Horsepower Estimate...

Make an Estimate on this engines horsepower.
1987 355 w/four bolt main bearing caps, Stage I connecting rods, New cast crank, Hyperuetectic pistons, Edlebrok performer intake and Cam int 234 degrees .488 exh 244 degrees .510, ported heads, and roller rockers. Your guess is as good as mine. I am thinking around 320hp and 400ft/lbs at the crank.

What is the compression? What about fuel delivery? And exhaust? These things will determine the power along with the cam and intake manifold. Things like 4-bolt-mains, pistons and rods are all insurance. They insure that the motor will not blow to pieces or the pistons will not melt.

The Rocker arms are 1.6 ratio, the exaust is Edlebrock TES headers, through a single gutted cat to flowmaster cat-back exaust. The fuel delivery is through a Rochester 4 barrel 750cfm carb, inside a K&N Filter. The compression ratio is 9.5:1
