Friday night from hell...
This is the closest to a non tech board, so here goes, I just need to vent...
Day started off fine, I ordered a Hurst Dual Gate 2 shifter, it will be here on monday. I start reading up on the install, and since I currently have a B&M megashifter (CRAP) i have to Uninstall that and put the stock cable and neutral safety relay back in. I clipped off the harness of the neutral safety relay when I put the megashifter in.
So I stroll up to Jim Trenary GM dealership and ask them for the harness, oh great, the mechanics are on strike! Then he tells me he can't even get it in stock until they are off strike. I didn't really care, they wanted $30 for a 6 wire harness anyway.
I then go to a store called Mid nite auto supply (ironically the store closes at 6 Pm). They tell me that they can get the part in an hour. (Its 4:30 when they tell me this). Ok great, i'll just drive back up in an hour.
On the way back to the store, there was a bit of traffic and I was in the left lane on a 4 lane road at a 4 way stop. I had to get into the right lane within about 200 feet so I could turn into the store's Parking Lot. Next to me at the stoplight is what I estimated to be a 70's Mustang with some performance stickers on the windows. I'm thinking that I have to haul *** to get over, so when the light turns green I launched the car.. He kinda casually glides off and doesn't get on it at all. I get over and out of nowhere a cop pulls up behind me. He turns on his lights (i'm turning anyway) and pulls me over in the parking lot of the store I'm supposed to be buying the harness for.
He gets out of the car and feeds me the ole "What're ya in such a hurry fer son?".. I told him I had to get over to turn in here and that my gears make the tires break loose really easy.. He pretty much didn't care. Comes back 10 minutes later from his car with a ticket and an envelope. He walked around the car, takes my blackouts off of the car and hands them to me. He says "these here are Illegal in the state of Missouri." I was like, ok, and then he walks around the car again, tells me that I have to have mufflers on the car. I told him I had 1. He said "You need 1 muffler per tailpipe".. You can kinda see where this is going...
Then he says to me "You see, when you step on the gas that hard, the carbuerater gives the engine too much gas and your wheels spin". He finally leaves me alone after a while and drives off..
So now I'm stuck with this dang $130 ticket for doing a "wheel spin". I have to have this appealed too because my insurance is already outrageous..
The only good thing that happened today was I got the relay for $20 at that store vs. the dealership...
I hate cops.

Did he ticket you for speeding or excessive acceleration? Just wondering. "your carbuerater"...ok, seeing as how you don't have a carbeurater on a 92. Of course if you give the engine "too much gas" (is there such a thing?), it's going to spin. Good luck with getting out of it. If nothing else, talk to the prosecuter and see if you can get it reduced.
I had to try and keep a straight face when he was trying to explain to me why that happened.. Like I didn't know..
Anyway, the ticket says "Failed to maintain control of vehicle, operatedin a carless and imprudent manner (spinning tires"
Thats a $130 ticket, not sure how many points on my license that goes for...

I once got a ticket for this but got it reduced to a fix it ticket with much explaination of how my truck was acting up and I was pushing the pedel down to keep it alive and it just took off and scared the wizz out of me. By pure luck he beleived me and even offered to call a tow truck. Of course an 80$ tow bill is like a ticket itself
but its better than 10 points off my liscence.SSC

LMAO! So if you do a burnout with a posi, and I do one right next to you with my peg-leg my fine will be half as much as yours? That's hilarious!
And what if I have hard-compund tires that doesn't leave marks on the street till they get really hot? lolTrending Topics
first you have put a new engine in that RS to get the wheels spinning
