Anyone know what a new Grand Am runs?
Just figured I'd find this out since I own one. Here's what I do know:
2000 Grand Am SE2
3.4 v6
170 hp
0-60 in 7.8s
Anyone got more numbers?

With that 0-60 time, I would say low 16's. Just a guess though.

My neighbor has a 93 or so grand am GT with the quad 4 and a 5 speed, he hit a 16.9 in it but he dosen't really know how to launch at all. The quad 4s aren't bad but i'll assume the V6 will be a little quicker so i'll 2nd the guess of low 16s.

They have the same hp numbers as a stock series 1 3.8. Mine ran a best of 15.96@86 with the no filter/airbox mod. With a good driver I'm sure they would run a 16.0. Although my 2 prior runs were a mid and high 16's. It's amazing how much you can cut off an et with a good launch
Powerbrake to about 1500-2000 rpm to squat the suspension, which helps to keep more weight on the front tires during initial acceleration. I don't have a Grand Am, so I'm not sure how much throttle you'll need at launch. Too much may cause excessive wheel spin, for which you'll need to take off at part throttle then bury it as soon has the tires grip.

I would have to say that they can't be that fast..I had a guy try and race me in my 93 dodge intrepid and he had a newer grand am. I didn't beat him by much but did beat him. And my intrepid is a big family car. It's got a 3.5 liter V6 with around 215-220 horse stock but it needs that to pull the car hehe..

I'm about to become the champion for bring back old threads. Anyways, my 1999 Grand AM SE2 went 15.7 @ 87 stock, and 15.0 @ 90mph with intake/exhaust/headers/ and a tune for the motor and tranny. Surprised a bunch of people with that one!

The V6 cars are solid high 15 second cars and the DOHC 2.4 M5 cars can run low 16's. Right in the range for stock LG4 and LO3 cars.
