Why did you try to run a Ford Taurus SHO? If you had a 5.0 LB9 Firdbird, you might still lose to a SHO. Sell the car or swap in a 350!

Yep, an SHO will either run with, or sometimes take quite a few of us. In the last apartment I lived in my neighbor had one...we raced one night and we were dead even; he was stock, I had just gotten my trans built up and done the free/easy mods. but that was before the L69 hit the schitz.

A Taurus SHO is probably one of the most overlooked sports cars as far as handling and performance. It is definitely one of Ford's best ideas.
They had (at one time) a 220 horsepower Yamaha DOHC V6, which is quite healthy. They were mated to 5-speeds; 93-up you could only have automatics. FoMoCo in USA imported these engines, and "watered" them down for streetability, efficiency, insurance, and gas mileage reasons. It doesn't take much to make them really fast. In fact the Yamaha motors in Japan, that were not watered down, were rumored to be around 320/350-ish horsepower as a race motor.
V8 guys need to watch out for these cars, just as much as the V6 guys do. They are very fast cars, and if you will...sleeper cars.

Don't feel bad dude. The SHO is a fast car and it could put my V8 car and many others to shame as well, let alone a 2.8 FBody. Don't get me wrong, a V6 or 305 thirdgen is a great first car, but a SHO is like almost as fast as some mustangs from what i've heard.

One of my neighbors used to have a 1992 SHO 5 speed with a supercharger and a few other mods..And I've seen him take down newer v8 f-bodies and mustangs alike..SHO = fast car..
