...why are stock based 3.0 liter supras running low 8s in the 1/4 then?
Try doing that with an L98 or LS1. You couldnt! You'd have to have forced induction. And the amount of boost you would need to get in the 8s would require forged pistons.
tsk tsk rednecks

And upgraded Turbo's/Fuel systems are NOT STOCK!!!! If you say a motor is stock that means right off the showroom floor, no HKS Turbo's NO NOTHING aftermarket.
i bet the suspension is also stock on these "stock based supras". they probably dont need slicks either

The stock bottom end of Supras are actualy quite stout. Mind you, I said Supras, not hondas or any other as$ import garbage. The MKIIIs can take 500+ before opening it up and the MKIVs routinely go 650+ before being opened.
Supras are just about the only import I like, the others being either too ecentric (RX7 - rotary) to work on or not available (Skylines, EVOs). Thats probably why I bought a Supra (in addition to my firebird). Supras are very, very easy to make fast for cheap. Don't trust most Supra owners though, most are lying coc|< suckers that just "dyno race." Heck my MkIII, just bpu, is puttin to the wheels as much as the LS1s. But they do have about 60 lbs more torque than me though. Thats why I've got to hit the giggles pretty soon.
But I'll tell you what, I'd trade my Supra for a WS6 LS1 in a second...
Incon TT + LS1 = Heaven
