My first race w/ new setup... and it's against a modded Porsche 911 Turbo!!!

My first race w/ new setup... and it's against a modded Porsche 911 Turbo!!!
I'm on about the best street for racing around here and come up behind an older style Porsche 911 Turbo (rear fenders were flared out A LOT). I see a couple aftermarket manufacturers stickers, aftermarket stainless dual exhuast, and some wide tires. And I SWEAR it sounds like a V-8, no turbos to be heard either. So we both work our way through some traffic and he gets out before me and guns it and takes off, I get out of the traffic soon after and gun it too and slowly pull on him, this is from about 50 MPH to 85 MPH. So we get up to a light on this 3 lane road. There is a car in the middle lane and the two of us are on the outside lanes. We both floor it and I spin all the way through first, even w/ feathering it, while he get about 3-4 cars on me. I hit second and he isn't pulling anymore, but I'm not gaining, then I hit 6200 rpm and the tranny is not shifting into 3rd, so I back it down and he got me by about 3-4 cars.
I think it would have been a lot better if I had my new tranny (still have the stock one and it will not ever shift into 3rd in WOT), my new Vigilante TQ converter which is still in my closet until I get the new tranny (I'm still using the stock TQ converter), and some better tires than the Potenza 910's (like some BFG Drag Radials). My engine also has NO tuning as of yet and has just finished the break-in.
I'm not too disappointed though, my friend saw the car at a local car show and said it has a Motown block and AFR 210 heads. THAT'S why I heard the V-8 rumble and no turbos. It also has a FULLY gutted interior with rollbar.
That's me first race w/ the new engine in, under the circumstances, I'm pretty happy I didn't get completely wasted, which makes me think he might not have floored it. A completely gutted 911 Turbo w/ a Motown engine and AFR 210's should destroy my untuned, no traction, not shifting butt.

That's cool! Those potenza's do suck to hook up. My will smoke from like a 5 mph roll, plus they are to soft when cornering.

Haha, tried to G-Tech it last night, spun the tires for about 150 feet, ALL the way through 1st until about 45 MPH when it shifted into 2nd. Where it stayed without shifting into 3rd until that last fraction of a sec. left on the run at about 50% throttle. 15.1 @ 87 MPH on Potenza 910's w/ no 3rd gear. I need a tranny and drag radials. All that money and work and I slowed down 3 tenths and 10 MPH
