Maybe, maybe not. I know STi's with 400whp that will beat almost anything on the street. And the BMW 1 series twin turbos are tricky too. Don't forget about boosted s2000's running 9's. Or all the other third gens, some with 400's twin turbo, some 4xx supercharged, a lot of 350sbc 500hp n/a beasts. Then you have to start thinking about srt-4's with huge turbo's. Also, the cobalt ss' will be a challenge, and the new 2.0t genesis if it's built, dont even get started with a boosted v6 one. 03+ cobras might be tough too.

What do you plan on doing to the 383? Your vr4 would probably(assuming its not stock) be a challenge for a mild 383

Re: Vr4 vs irocz l98

Hmm I ran a VR4 from a low roll with my exhaust modded L98 and stayed ahead to about 80mph. He was slowwwly gaining back but just couldnt get around me.

No reason why you cant build a stock block 383 that should handle MOST cars. Simple heads/cam setup with intake swap is a 11 second car and a nitrous shot will go high 10's/mid 10's depending. That will take on most cars you see today.

vr4's can come out hard but it's not like they trap some carzy high speed.

With factory cars now in the 11's with simple bolt ons and some just with tires, you need to go 10's to have a fast street car. Then again the number of 8 and 9 second cars these days keeps increasing so it just never ends. Someone is always faster than you.
