Raced C5 in 5.3 swapped camaro

Sorry no vid.
We took off from a dead stop and threw first gear I held him at my door but about the middle of second he started to come around. He was in a a4 car with a kid passenger and I had 3 passengers. I lost but i wasnt disapointed. The 5.3 isnt as fast as I thought it was going to be but it made the car 1,000 times better.

Why would you be dissapointed? The Vette weighs less, has more power, and had less passengers. All points to the vette for beating your 5.3L swap.

You car is about 100-200lbs heavier, had 3 adults in it, and your engine made about 25hp less.

most 5.3L swapped cars will go mid/low 13's if its just a straight swap with no mods (headers and such).

A near stock weight thirdgen with a 5.3L should be doing 14 second 1/4 miles unless there is something mechanically wrong with the car or you just can't launch at all.

My LT1 is a B-body LT1 with 260hp and full bolt-ons. With my race weight of 3750lbs and its Trap speeds of 102mph its making an estimated 320hp crank. My best run on 10yr old crappy street tires and with a broken transmount was a 13.35 @ 102.8mph.

Your 5.3L should be very close to that as the 5.3L made between 290-325hp depending on its year of production.

Lol can't launch at all lol if i can launch a 4.10 geared ls1 6 speed t/a on street tires I think I can handle an automatic. I haven't taken it to the track but I would guess a 14.1 at 97ish mph I go to the track a lot and it feels like a low 14 car. I don't want to take it to the track b/c I don't want to be disipointed with the time.

I didn't say *you* couldn't launch it. Just saying that there is no way that a 5.3L swapped thirdgen will run a 14 second 1/4 mile unless someone screws up.

First time out my GTA with a LT1 swap knocked a 13.7 @ 101mph. This straight off the street with COLD tires and no burnout. It was supposed to be a warm up run since the car had been in storage for nearly 4 years before the swap and it had never been to the track before. If you wanna skip the burnout stuff go to 46 seconds. if I can do it with a 260hp LT1, then there is no way a good running 5.3L swap should be running 14s unless your at some serious altitude.
