My Cousins best girl friend from high school just got a Black SRT-8 Challenger for her birthday. Nice car but I wouldn't choose it before a Camaro. Hot Girls tho, I like the one in the black shirt

In short, for SAFETY reasons. It makes alot of sense. But I just don't like it. I don't like the idea of a computer limiting the power of the car. At least give me a button to turn traction control off. Well they do, but I did not realize you have to hold down the traction control button(5-10 seconds) to FULLY dis-engage everything. I like to regulate the power of the car with my right foot.
But yes your point is very valid, and very true, and that's why it is what it is. I heard they stopped production of T-Tops for safety reasons as well. Gotta love it(sarcasm).

Also, I own a 2011 rx8 I should've thought to ask if you held the button down. It works the same way...theres two systams stability control and traction control, a short press turns the stability control off a long press turns off both. In reply to another post i saw, in short a finely tuned traction control system can help a high hp car in the 1/4 mile BUT it can prove a hinderance to a skilled driver on a road course.

Anyone seen a challenger with these aftermarket chrome bumper add ons? really adds the 1970 look. I still think dodge did the best job recreating the retro look. Chevy should have built a chevelle not a camaro

Re: Test drove 2013 Mustang 5.0 & Camaro SS Automatic and was dissappointed? Question
I've seen that look, on Challengers and on the 5th gen Camaros, front and rear bumper... It's ok if that's what you like and want on yours but I just don't like it too much. on 1st Gens it belongs but on 5th gens it's like trying too hard to make them too much into something from the past that they are not, and I believe they should let them be Retro/A Blast from the Past in their own way and chroming the front and rear bumpers to make them look like the old doesn't achieve that in my view and makes it look like they tried too hard, I'm not hating on it but I'm just stating my view.

a lot of the new GM vehicles have a "dead stop romp" delete programmed into them. therefore not allowing WOT at speeds less than a certain amount. Idk if the cars mentioned have it but we found it on a 06 GMC sierra 4x4 with the 4.8

Re: Test drove 2013 Mustang 5.0 & Camaro SS Automatic and was dissappointed? Question
i recently got to test drive the mustang 5.0
auto again 2011. this time turned off TC by holding down tc button for close to 10 seconds. it did "better" but u can tell factory tuning doesnt allow WOT from dead stop so to me getting aftermarket tunes is probably a must on these newer cars. throttle reaction felt like it delayed sonetimes to like 1-2 seconds. like cruise about 25 punch it took like 1-2 seconds; kinda strange feeling. but i think aftermarket tunes will greatly enhance throttle response for automatics.
another thing i notice was it shifted into 2nd earlier than my gta like closer to 10mph instead like 15mph in my gta. so the 3.15 gear is "tighter" than my 3.27 in gta due to A6 vs A4 automatic(1st gear ratio much better for take off than A4 1st gear ratio). It will take time to find the sweet spots but I will tell of this example. Say coming to a stop and taking a right turn. In my GTA nose going to the right direction, you can ease out there, then white going to the right, punch the gas and get a nice fish tail both tires spinning action. I do the same thing in the 2011 mustang GT, and what happens was it already shifted to 2nd before I punched it, so it acted weird, it kinda delayed then took off a little in 2nd, then it decides to shift down to 1st, which makes for an awkward feeling "fish tail". In hindsite I guess to keep it from shifting into 2nd "too early" I could have manually kept it into 1st gear. I'm wondering if the aftermarket tunes will probably extend the rpm some so it will stay in 1st a little longer. I know in my wifes Mini Cooper S when you put it in "sport" mode it extends the RPMS and shifts later. Is there a "sports" mode in the new mustang/camaro? If so, I haven't discovered it yet.

Not really a fan of the 13 SS or GT. My next car will be a 2008 LS3 Corvette. Those things are wicked modded.

Chrome bumper looks good on there
The power delivery in the LSx cars is linear.
Doesnt feel like youre accelrating quick but you are.
Test drove aC5 vert yrs ago and wondered wheres the power.
Looked down doing 110..answered that question.
Peaky feels faster..sometimes is sometimes isnt.

all the electrical nannies hold the auto camaro back big time. guys are dropping 3\4 of a second off their cars with a tune alone.

Re: Test drove 2013 Mustang 5.0 & Camaro SS Automatic and was dissappointed? Question
I drive a 2013 Mustang GT and to truly unleash it, you have to turn the car on, Hold down the brake pedal past 8 seconds and then press the traction control button. You will see an indicator light letting you know that the digi-nannies are off and it is possible to bring the back end around when you get on it. Ive only done this twice because its a little scary. And yeah, Ive been beaten by a thirdgen f-body before. The darn thing LOOKED like an IROC-Z lol. thats another story. Ive gotta get me one of those.

Exactly. I own a 14 5.0. The reason they don't feel like your thirdgens are because these newer cars have drive by wire and toque management. And a much better suspension.
