I have a total of $1150 in all those mods looking to get high 12s with about $1500 invested in mods.

Let me make sure I'm understanding. Your saying you want to spend another $350 and shave another second off your E.T.?

I am thinking of porting everything myself so that is free and buying some used slicks on craigslist should get close to where I want to be.

$1500 invested in a 12sec lb9 is my goal. Probably not going to happen but I will try for the hell of it.

I just replaced my 3.42's with a set of 4.10's. Made a huge difference with my convertible. (305, T56)

We've sent a 305 with HO 305 heads and a mild cam into the 12's on a 100 shot with descent drag radials, 4.10s and an air gap intake.

When you say mild cam what are you saying? I'm assuming around .480 to .500 lift which is by most peoples standards mild. That being said his peanut cam is nowhere near those specs. More like .400 lift with the 1.6 rockers which isn't going to get it done.

Throw those headers in the trash and get LTs, dont worry theirs no motor jacking or fabbing required.
(mufflex Y-pipe)

-you WILL need a heated 02 and a mini starter

I thought the 88-89 lb9 5speed and l98 had the .415/.430 cam from the factory.

I went with the tes headers because I really want to keep the stock look. I just want to build a 12.99 sleeper car with only $1500 dollars in performance mods.

I did get some good deals on used and new parts from ebay ,swap meets and members on this site but if I can achieve this goal I can set up a budget blueprint for lb9 owners.

13.2 isn't going to happen with stock heads and stock cam in an lb9.... if it does its going to cost more then your $1500 budget.

Re: My lb9 mod list what is she going to run?

I just read this post from kustomiroc

Ran a 12.84 on Nitrous - 305 TPI
Hi guys I'm back
I finally hooked up my nitrous and my MSD Digital 6. Thanks again to Mike Metzler (Desert86Iroc) for some tips. I went to the track Saturday and posted 4 time trials.
14.34 @ 95.75 on the motor. This is right of the trailer. This is usually what I run.
14.24 @ 96.17 this was good I picked up at least a tenth off of my regular track times.
13.34 @ 106.13 Wicked run hit the nitrous at about the 990 to half track mark.
12.84 @ 107.74 AWESOME, I hit the bottle about 20 to 30 feet out as I was scared to grenade the little 7.5 10 bolt.

I have never had so much fun. I have raced this car for 3 seasons now and have gone from high 15's down to 12's on my TPI 305 with a 166 000 kms on it. Stock cam and heads and still running the same timing chain and gear.
Go figure.

I used the 5151 NOS kit but put in a 53 and 70 jets. I think they are a little larger than the 150 hp jets.

I came out Sunday and made 4 more passes
off the bottle.
14.38
14.31
14.34

I dialed in a 14.32 and lost to the guy next to me. I ran a 14.316 and broke out. The nitrous didn't hurt the consistency too much.

PLEASE take a video camera with you for proof of the time clock or so we can all see a rod hit the eject button.

No offence but i dont see it happening. It will be cool if it does but....

My wife will definitely record my runs. I hope she does not blow up but if she does I can use all my mods on my 383 build.

Why would your wife blow up...?

I'm sure your LB9 will do just fine...

Just have fun that's all that matters. I wish I could afford to drag race still. I guess I could if I was doing what your doing but I always had to have BB Mopars. Not cheap to build or blow-up.

I have a SRT 4 neon, Mitsubishi 3000GT, Dodge Durango, and 2 IROCs. So I'm pretty open to all manufacturers. Except Ford that is.

12's On a healthy LB9 with a 150 shot, Should be pretty easy. If the car is in proper running order. And the kid can drive and launch. Not to mention, his formula is a bit lighter than a GTA or Iroc. There was a guy on here a year or two ago. He had I think an 88 or 89 formula LB9/T5 and sprayed it in the 11's. Decent suspension, DR's and bolt ons, and alot of practice and tuning.

Re: My lb9 mod list what is she going to run?

well guys transamws6 sent me some bad luck lol today my wife was driving the formula today and overheated the engine and cooked it with only 62,000 miles on it. My friend has a 350 out of a 86 iroc what would I have to do to make the swap work? could I use my 305 intake with out the cold start?

85-88 have the cold start injector, 89 was the first year that the CSI was removed. But to answer your question, yes you can use your intake, you can also use all your accessories. the main thing you have to do is put 22 LB injectors. if you have anymore questions you can PM me if you'd like. theres also some helpful info on the swap all over thirdgen, org
