C4 TPI vette vs Thirdgen.

Purchased an 86 vette about a year or so ago and have been slowly fixing it (put it on the backburner for some time) and never really got a chance to drive it. I didn't expect it to be much different from the various Thirdgens I have owned. I know its not a proper comparison but I constantly hear these cars as not being much better then the Fbody, which couldn't be further from the truth.

Boy was I wrong. It is an entirely different beast in all aspects of stock 80s performance. I finally got a temp and was able to take this thing out for a good boot. Very fun, fast feeling car with nice handling. I have 1991 sawblades and correct stock rubber to replace the ugly 86 rims and the handling is great. A huge improvement over the thirdgen. Though I would say the build quality is iffy, same old GM cost cutting.

Who else has a C4 that can chime in on this?

I have a C4, and the comparison is night and day. Handles tight, very firm, and from a roll she pulls very hard. From a stop though, the best I could get was a high 13 due to the stock converter at the time, haven't had her at the track since the upgrades. My 3rd gen, now, will annihilate my C4 though, even with the Procharged LT1. Build quality is awesome though, gotta admit...

Yeah I found from a stop they fishtail all over the place then pull hard. I have a low mileage car so I am sure that helps a bit, engine pulls like it was new no bog nothing.
