Thirdgen lt1 vs Cadillac Eldorado
I should have wrote this story when it happened a few months ago. My stepdad friend has a Cadillac Eldorado. He told me it's the 330 hp engine but I can't find it online so I'm guessing it's the 300 hp. He kept telling me wants to race thinking I still had a old 350 in it. So headed to a friends house we find a light with no traffic. So I put in drive and waited for the light to turn green. The light turns green I let him get the jump to make sure we were racing. He pulled a bumper in front of me I caught him around the 60 ft and put a car on him. I held that lead to about 90 where traffic was coming and we slowed down. So I know on the 1/8 mile track I would have him beat. After the race he said I lied to him and that I definitely had "some ****" under my hood. He tells me how he has raced bmws, newer cars and always wins. It's the only car I raced this summer. Not bad for a basically stock lt1. Mods in sig

Not surprised. When the 4th gens came out my friends bone stock 93 Z28 tripped the quarter at 13.8 Those LT1s are fast! Too bad the 4th gen Camaros were so ugly.

Re: Thirdgen lt1 vs Cadillac Eldorado
I personally think the lt1 belonged in a stock thirdgen. With the extra weight saved its a low 13 second car in stock form.

I don't know. Haven't been to the track since my car has been running on all 8. Last time I had 3 bad spark plug wires and only trapped 66 mph on a 1/8 mile track. I made a pull using a iPad app and trapped 83 mph in a 1/8 but I don't know how accurate it is.

Re: Thirdgen lt1 vs Cadillac Eldorado
If an LT1 thirdgen cannot destroy any Caddilac save a CTS-V, Vsport, and now ATS-V then something is wrong.
This is a Thirdgen with the lowest HP LT1 there was, the Iron headed B-body.
And BTW, thats a broken 4L60E that won't go into 4th gear, w/o TQ Lock-up, and can't shift till 6000rpm @ WOT, which is about 700rpm past peak power on the B-body LT1.
That engine surprised a HELL of of a lot of people considering how mellow it idled even with full exhaust. Idle sounded like a perfectly stock thirdgen.

And your example isn't even close to what that lowly B-body version of the LT1 can do.
My stock engine, except for 1.6 roller rockers, 1996 B-body at 3925 lbs went a best of 12.36 @ 107.

Re: Thirdgen lt1 vs Cadillac Eldorado
Tell me another one. There are more mods there than listed. Rockers alone not going to help that cam.

Re: Thirdgen lt1 vs Cadillac Eldorado
Rockers and springs are the only internal engine mods, not stock everything else on the car though

4.10 gears, 3400 TC, and a COLD high pressure day!
It's the record holder for stock cam / stock head B-bodies.

There's a lot of information on that webpage from people who know how to make LT1's run

Re: Thirdgen lt1 vs Cadillac Eldorado
No matter what else is done to the car, just look at the mph vs weight; that tells you how much power it's making. The other vehicle mods make the ET.
