'07 AWD 300c vs '89 IROC L98

posted this earlier and didnt seem to go through...

Long time reader and first time poster. So a good friend of mine has got a 300c with AWD and a 5.7 Hemi. He isnt really great with cars but he knows his isnt completely slow.
Anyway he talks so much **** on my camaro and how he will walk me. I finally got behind him at a light turning on to an open highway. He jumps it while about a car infront of me as Im getting in the other lane. I hammer it when he is about 3 cars on me and I immediately start to reel him in. As I pass him he lets off and I chalk that up as a win.
He immediately now pulls up and slings about a thousand excuses including that he slowed down to let me catch him. Im calling BS. Anyway I thought my old 96k L98 would get waxed from a 25ish roll by his new Hemi. Those 300s are heavy pigs but do have some grunt.

Thoughts?? Any are appreciated

Off the line you'll get left so bad it'll look like you're sitting still. In a roll his weight is going to kill him.

thanks for the input. Sounds like a roll I may have a shot but from a dig that AWD will get him moving.

Time for some upgrades

That's really the factor that will have you losing from a dig, the 5.7 Hemi from those years made 340HP. You'll def need mods to keep up, and out run him the 300Cs are only about 500 pounds heavier than a 350 IROC.

I saw a 300 not long ago at the track and it only mustered a string of 14.3-14.4s in the quarter mile. You should have a chance.

Really? My friends isnt exactly the best of drivers so he probably is around there. Then again how hard can it be to launch the AWD ont hat thing? Regardless, hoping to run him soon.

Thanks for the info guys!
