New engine = more fun

I have just put 400miles on my new engine. Balanced 5.7 with the stock tpi intake, slp runners ported, AFR 190 heads, Custom cam @.50 208\222 with .495/.540 lift on 112 LCA headers, flowmaster cat back. Anyway, on the freeway and some Red 89-93GT mustang pulls up as I am about 500 ft from the exit I was taking and he is taunting me. So for hte first time on the new motor, I race him...only for about 2 seconds...up to 75-80mph. Blew his doors off and took the exit. I'm not much for street racing so I always play it safe. This stang was pretty fast...I would guess mid to hi 13's. My new motor is faster than when i had the stock engine with my supercharger which ran a 12.8. I can't wait to put the supercharger back on I have to put my subframe connectors on first, then burn a chip... Hope I can break into the hi 11'swith my new engine

Well if he is going to supercharge it the intake will not be as much of a restriction. Sounds good man, what kind of blower you using?

I considered pultting on a super-ram or a mini ram but since i have a blower and I can't spin my supercharger over 5500rpm, I decided to just keep the tpi on. I have a paxton Sn2000m that pushes 8lbs of booost. I plan to get an underdrive pulley to slow down the supercharger if I put a mini ram on or a superram, but I have yet to take my engine over 5000rpms yet. If I pull up to 6200rpms, I'll consider a different intake manifold, although my cam is not desighned to go much past 5500rpm's.

Sounds good man,
If you are happy with your performance now just wait. 8lbs of boost is pretty healthy! How much compression are you running? Do you have a custom chip? What lb injectors? You should be ready to boogie after you bolt the paxton up

I have ford svo 24lb injectors and running 9.3/1 compression. I think I may loose 1-2lbs of boost because the heads flow so well but that is to be expected although I hope i can still get 8lbs of boost

Hell yeah,
even without the paxton those AFR's will give you some serious punch when paired with that cam. Good luck getting the power to the ground!! can you say slicks?
