HP on 95 Z28-help me on this one.

My friends dad drives a 95 Z28 six speed.
I always hear conflicting reports on Hp of these car and I would like to know what the real deal is.
What kinda gear ratio does he have and what is his quarter.
All stock.
Any way, the kids dad said he can drive the car on dates.
So, he said that he would come by and give me a run for my money. I said "well see."

275 hp
And somewhere with most uncorrected times in the mid fourteen seconds. If he can really drive it will be faster. That is all i can say for sure.

275 hp on single cat cars and 285 on dual cat cars. midway through the year they switched over. also all cali cars got the dual cats that year. the gears are 3.42. that was the only gears offered with the M6. expect to run a low 14. only people i see that run high 13s stock are pros and veterans. traction is a bitch in it...

Hee Hee...The LT1's are under rated...I pulled a 270RWHP(330 at teh flywheel) in my 95, with 308 TQ(370 at the flywheel)(those are very similar to LT4 numbers)...That's only 19hp behind my best friend's 2000 Z28, and actually 7 TQ better... I have an A4... And I did a 13.7 bone stock at 101mph...2.0 60' and a .567 RT, corrected.

Do not underestimate the power of the 4ths.

My Z28 was one stock at the dyno and at the track (Ennis, TX)...Dyno'd on a dyojet at LG Motorsports. 70,000 miles on the clock. Still stock...and loving it...Oh, and it has the 2.73 rear gears.

Just FYI.

Duh. That is why it is getting a 12bolt 3.42 Posi, by Moser

To go with the race prepped 4l60e

and a 425hp LT4.

THis is why I bought my 3rd gen...a daily driver while my Z gets built.

Those 1/4 mile times and dyno ratings were bone stock(not even a K&N). I have several LS1 kills, as well.

What are your mods 87irocz350?

Forgive me but "I've got over 300hp" doesn't cut it for this type of question over the net, lol.

The other guys car should run a 14.0-14.2 at least if he can drive decent. If it doesn't run at least that it's either a ****ty track or a ****ty driver to blame... Don't forget he's got 3.42s and manual so even if you do have him outpowered by a bit at the crank, your auto will slow you down a bit compared to him in the 1/4. You should have 3.27s right? Gearings close enough it won't play a major factor. Fill us in on your mods.

If your car is pretty much stock (it seems that way) he should beat you. If you had a 91-92 L98 it would be a little closer, but you'd probably still loose.

But it seems like the kid wont be able to drive too well, so you may be able to take him. If anyone who knew what they were doing was behind the wheel you would definetly loose, unless you have some mods.

LT1's kick @ss!!
