I just got this 1989 Trans am GTA and my friend came over with his 3000 GT. So we decided to race well we drove out to our normal racing road. Here is how the races went


Race 1 - Trans am by1 car lenght
Race 2 - 3000 GT by a car nose (only because i had a bad Jump)
Race 3 - Trans Am by 1 car lenght

i guess my old school 255 h/p
took his sporty 167
and i won

 

Not to be a wet blanket or anything but . . .

For about $3 in the sprinkler section of your local hardware store, he can buy about 70-100hp. All it takes is a small bleeder valve in the vacuum tubing between the wastegates and their actuators. I literally saw a guy at the races once with a bleeder valve that said "rainbird" right on it!

um, who said the 3000 GT had a turbo? if he's only pushing 167 HP then its the N/A version

can i do this $3.00 mod on my 305 tbi???? if so show me where to sign up, 75-100 hp for 3 bucks u dang right i am at the front of the line. if i can do this will u please explain to me how. and could i get a mechanic to do it or would it be easy enough by myself?? thanks

 

its for a turbo man, u buy a part from your local hardware store that allows you to crank the boost

Non turbo 3000GT's and Stealths had a 220hp DOHC unless it was a really cheap one then it would have the crappy 160hp engine. If it only had 160hp you would have beat him by 3-4 car lenths

 

Thats not too good man, if its the 167 hp version, than it should go high 15s, and I'm pretty sure your car is better than a high 15.

 

I started behind him and they were a really short races. I only got to about 80-85

 

u should own his car in the 1/4. rush that **** down

 

well i did own him concerding i was 1 car lenght behind him he started first and i beet him by at least 1 car lenght so i really gaind 3 car lenghts on him

 

it that gt is turbo it would hand you your azz hands down!
