new v6 mustangs are camaros are like 15 second cars....your lo3 is probably a high 15 right now just depends it wont take much work to beat a v6 but youll need full exhaust better gears and stuff like that im sure with a LT1 cam you would rock him

They're like 200HP stock, aren't they? That's a bit more than an LO3 in stock or even slightly modified form.

Yeah, 193HP stock. Sometimes the V6'ers over in the Mustang Forums get cocky and say things like "We are 25HP way from hanging with stock 5.0 Mustangs. They are quick, but some V6 owners get the rice mentality if you know what I'm saying.

Just the other day i pull next to a "2000 Cobra R" rolling down the street. I take a good look at it and dismiss it as a V6. WHy? Well, he had th right body and embems and rims, but he left the poor little V6 brakes on the car. It also sounded like crap cuz i think he put straight pipes out theide with no mufflers. I just shook my head and smoked him

It's not so tell-tale on our cars, but with 4th gen mustangs... single outlet exhaust means V6 and dual means V8 unless the car is sufficiently modified.

Yes new 6's are much faster 'cause they got a bunch more Hp... They're still a joke though for a performance car of today.

Yeah I have seen quite a few Cobra's (what I think) that turn out to be V6 Mustangs. As for losing to one; its always possible. I lost to a 4.0L Ranger but I have beaten V8 Stangs. Go figure.

Between my current car and my Firebird I had a 190HP 2000 V6 mustang 5 speed and have beaten a 5.0 auto in it. The car was a coupe, 94-95 sounded stock, had two people in it. I jumped him by half a car in first and held it in first and second halfway through third he started inching me but we let off at the top of third and I was still ahead(barely). With GT dual exhaust, 10hp, Chip 10-12hp( dyno proven) and CAI these cars have 210-215HP and can hit high 14's at 92-93mph with a good driver, in good air and Traction. Traction is a big thing with the stock tires and an open differential. When I first got my car I ran a 15.7 at 90.4 mph. I couldn't drive well at first or get traction with the stock GSA's, but I sold it before I went again.

I've actually witnessed a 2000 6 cyl Mustang go 14.92 bone stock. He had 1/4 tank of gas, removed spare and air silencer, and he shifted like a pro. The car went 14.92. I would think they average mid to high 15s, and that should put it close to your car. Sure there a joke for a performance car, but they are the bottom of the line as far as Mustangs go, and they really aren't looked at as performance cars, more like sporty family cars. Thats just my opinion, but you guys may look at them as performance cars.

I own an '02 V-6 stang, bought it for my wife a couple of months ago. It does pretty good for what it is, but doesn't have anything for my car. Ford is going the smart route with those cars, give it enough to make it fun, but not so much the insurance goes up. I'm paying the same amount for liability on my car as full coverage on hers, go figure!
