Cobra R will outhandle a Z06???

I really dont want opinions on what would happen, i need facts...some sort of road tests. Im not doubting this, but if it is true then the Cobra R is a fine machine. My brother likes mustangs and he was telling me that he read that they outhandle the Z06. I know the R was made for handling, but damn, i didnt think there was too much of anything that could do this. :hail: Any of you mustang guys know anything about this?

the z06 is a great car and gives great bang for the buck but it is not the mighty *** of cars that some ppl claim it as

as for which will handle better I think i read something that said the cobra r did turn a little better but not by much
I will look around though and see if I can find the magazine, and it has been a long time since I read it so I could be wrong.

In all the magazine comparisons i've seen the Cobra-R did outhandle the Z06 by a small margin. This doesn't surprise me at all since the Cobra-R is a full blown all out race car and is made for road racing. Not that the Z06 isn't all about performance and handling either. Personally if I was going to be dishing out $50k+ on a car and i had to choose between a Z06 and a Cobra-R it would be a no brainer to get the Z06. All the raw power and the creature comforts of a modern sports car. The way it should be,

The ZO6 does 1g on the skidpad, better than the M3 and Boxter

I agree with you on buying the vette. the cobra r is a all out stripped car made for nothing more then road racing. they are made in small numbers so the chance of even finding is not very good. they would make a bad street ride for me.
for the most part the cobra R is a race car you drive on the street. the vette is a street car you can take to the track

also the vette might do 1g on the skipdpad but that doesn't mean it will handle a road race a lot better

all the skidpad will tell you is how well it will do better in a long sweeper but if you take it to a place that has a lot of low speed turns or lots of turns in a row then that number doesn't mean everything

I still give it respect b/c it is a great car just dont think of it as the *** of all cars
I would rather go out and buy a 93 R1 for a lot less money and still run with the vette on the road course

I believe it was Motor Trend that did the Viper vs. Cobra R vs. Z06 shootout. The Viper won at the dragstrip, the Cobra R won on the road course, but they rated the Z06 as the best overall which, IMO, is a pretty fair assessment.

i agree that the Cobra R will probably out handle the Z06 on a road course. in a current issue of Vette magazine, they reported that the early C4s were better autocross cars than the new generation (C5s), because of their stiffer suspention and abundance of low end torque.
