Busted!!

Went to the street races last night. Kinda sucked cause as we got out of the car we saw 2 new trans ams running. At the end we saw hazard and red and blue flashing lights. Everyone ran (there were about 40 cars and probably 100 people there.) We all drove to the 2nd exit and it was blocked by the cops. We were trapped. Everyone followed me to a parking lot and we all parked our cars and got out. Then the cops came to the parking lot and everyone ran. Some smart guy (that looked just like me) had an idea to cut the padlock off a gate and drive our cars through. It worked great. Everyone got there cars out okay and thanked the hell out of me. The damage: 3 cars impounded and 1 arrest

Yeah the ticket was totally but all I did was go down to the DMV and asked to dispute the ticket and they printed a thing up for me. I thought you could only dispute speeding tickets. I guess not.

Can't you just show them that the headlight is working now?

Maybe it's different in Canada.

Ah, we have "fix it" tickets here.. Broken headlight or other unsafe equipment, $5 fine as long as a cop has inspected it, and signed off the ticket. (which the police station charges $4 to do.)
Total Damage: $9 and no points.

Around here we just have to find a cop to sign off the back of the ticket and it costs us nothing. I've been stopped for running a straight pipe exhaust on my VW at least 3 times, I keep the mufflers in the back seat.... 3 bolts later I get the ticket signed off and send it in.

Before you ask, I take the mufflers off for high rpm power gain when racing, and put them back on for day to day driving. You can feel the difference on a small engine in a light car.

I have a 68 with stock engine but that's about it. it's got all the cal-look conversions I could ever think of including that it's totally slammed.

It's a 61. It's got a 2110cc engine based off a 1600cc post 70's block. Dual 44mm Weber IDFs, 009 distributor, MSD ignition, petronix trigger, Engle 110 cam, Mahle pistons, manley s/s valves, GEX springs, Melling oil pump, etc...

I'm about to pull it into the garage and strip it down to the frame, build a Berg 5 speed tranny, a turbo/efi 2232cc engine, and throw it back together. I might put NOS in it somewhere down the line also. I'm aiming for sub-10 second times in the 1/4.

Then I'll start throwing the money at the Iroc (like I haven't already.)

Here's a couple pics I took today:

The business end:

The interior. I won't post the outside since it's basically a dented primer black bug.

I'd guess it runs around low 14's high 13's at the moment. I can't run on the track because I wouldn't pass tech. (No seatbelts.)

I saw an article on a Bug running 10.8's all motor, with full street trim. His engine was only 200 cc's larger than mine, but his compression ratio was something like 14.5:1. I figure with a turbo/efi setup, at 14.5 lbs of boost I'll be running around 325 hp. And with a fibreglas front end and stripped interior, I'll weigh a lot less.. so I should get low 10's high 9's.

I've killed plenty of rice with it when it was my daily driver. The look on the face of someone with the neon lights, decals, etc... is priceless when I lift the front wheels. (Takes me running on reserve to be light enough to accomplish that tho.)

haha I'm setup to race a '68 bug with a '75 super beetle 1600cc with dual webbers and some other stuff. Should be a good race once I redo my engine.
