looking to compare g-tech 0-60 to a 1/4 time
hey guys,
we jsut g-teched my buddies car and we are trying to find out about what it means as far a 1/4 time. he went 0-60 in 6.91 with a bit of wheel spin. anyone got a time close to that with a 1/4 to match? there was a bit too much traffic to do a whole 1/4, that is why we don't have that too.
thanks

It's going to be hard to estimate by just a 0-60, because depending on his setup if he runs out of power up to or not that will change things. And remember the road has to be flat in order to get an accurate reading.
it is a good flat road, later at night it is our local street racing spot. i am just looking for a guesstimate, doesn't need to be dead accurate. anyoen who is in the 6.8 to 7.1 range for 0-60 that has both numbers woudl give me an accurate enough idea.

I really does depend on how your car is geared, what type of intake you are running, what cam you are running, etc. Some cars are mosters off the line, and then run out of steam top end (stock L98's) so you have to really run the 1/4 and see for yourself.

i know that this isn't gonna be accurate or scientific or anything, figure the car will prolly see a trap speed around 90-92mph. just want to get an idea if the car will be into the 14's or not. the car is mildly modded with 3.73 gears. more torque than top end hp pretty much.
does that help?
thanks

when i was running 90 and 89.9 mph i was running 15.0's, adn i have the video to prove the tires were going all the way around at least once before they started to hook. i was cutting 2.20 and high 2.1 60's at the time with a 3.54 gear, the car in question has a 3.73 gear and weighs about 100lbs less.
i have more practical information to finish this now. we went back out a did a little more tuning with a lap top to try to get the air/fuel ratio better and we adjusted the timing a bit. then on the way home we were on an open stretch with no traffic some how so i hooked up the g-tech, we stopped(yes, we stopped on the highway) adn did a quick run.
thet result was a bit more wheel spin than last night, a 6.73 0-60 time and a 15.14, 1/4 time at 95.5 g-tech mph. since g-tech is within a tenth and the mph is usually 3-5 mph higher than an actual trap speed, so i woudl say that even with all the wheel spin he ran between 15.04-15.24 at 90.5-92.5 mph. that was also with my 200lbs *** in the pass seat(there's 2 tenths
) and a 3/4 tank of gas.
gotta work on the traction issue a bit, of course being on a prepared track instead of a ramdom stretch of road will help that a bit, and he is looking into a batt relo kit and maybe knocking out a little more weight before he hits the track
who knows, maybe 14.8's are only a fewweeks away
