94 Z28 vs. 88 IROC-Z
well i was getting on the freeway, on my way home as i see a newer camaro on my *** and then he pulls right past me quick. I'm thinking oh hell nah. Anyways i punch it and i start catching up. he had to slow down...traffic. Well i got besides him and tell what's up(actually nodded if he wanted to race) Well he nodded back and heard him punch it(he had some sort of exhaust). Well i then punch it as well and i keep right on his ***. We were going about 75-100. We constantly had to slow down because of traffic, but every time he floored it stayed right by him. One time i started pulling very slowly but i did
Well i don't know what was wrong with his car but it seemed slow to me. Must have been out of tune or something? What do you guys think?

The only mods are K & N :sillylol: , Headers, & Cat Back Exhaust. I still believe that his was unsually slow though. It has to have been an auto.
Both cars with the V8's pretty much have the same mass, give or take a hundred pounds, and the power difference isnt very large, even if its, say a 50hp difference for example. The 1/4 mile difference would be less than half a second between the two cars, and going 75 to 100mph, thats basically 1 or 2 car lengths, or in other words "being right on his ***"
Just because someones car has a better power to weight ratio doesnt mean that they're gonna "blow their opponent away", unless if they have a significant power and weight advantage difference.

I would like to reinforce this point. I raced a 96 LT1 firebird from a roll, it was dead even with me pulling a fender if anything.
when we went from a stop I beat him by several car lengths.
I have more power, but it wasn't as obvious when racing from a roll.
thats what i've found anyway
