my camaro vs. 92 mustang

This guy I know wants to race me. He has a 92 mustang 302, automatic. Im not sure what gear he has, but he spins off the line bad. He has a flowmaster cat-back system, with power pulleys, and a chip. He also has a cam. I dont know the specs, with stock heads.

My car has a 92 350 TPI, 700R4, with posi 2.73. I have all the a/c and smog off my car. when we race I will have done these mods. hedman headers, and hooker cat-back without the cats. crane power max 2032 cam, Air foil, AFPR at 50 psi, ported plenum, K&N cone filter, 3.73 gears, msd coil, hot plugs and wires. I am thinking of getting my trans worked on and about a 2500 to 3000 stall, but this will be after we race.

What you guys think. what should my car run with these mods.

Both cars will be running DOT tires.

The 2.73's sure arent helping you...

But it sounds like you should have a solid 13 second combo. As for the mustang...if its a stock AOD you'll probably win. I say probably because I dont have much info on the stang. Cam specs would help.

EDIT: do you have 3.73's? if so update the sig!

That Mustang sounds almost exactly like my set-up. You WILL win. He may have 4.10s, but it won't matter, and the cam may actually hurt his car instead of help him. If you run, even mid 14s you should still take him, I would put him at a 14.3-15.0.

I was counting on you mark. you have helped me alot. what do you think of my combo. Im porting my plenum now, and I am ordering my parts this week. what should I run in a 1/4.

Was the hooker cat back easy to install. I will be getting mine before long with hedman elite headers. they are aluminized.

The Mustang sounds like my car except he has a Cam. I spun badly off the line (damn stiff lowering springs), but my E/T is in the sig.

I should hav an update as new parts going on soon and track opens in 3 weeks
