Valve covers for 305
Hey all
I bought some valve covers from the junkyard they are chrome plated. I found them in a 305 I belive it was.
But the valve covers are different than the ones I got now.
THese valve covers, the screws go in the sides..
while on my factory ones, they go in the middle on top of the actual cover. (does anyone know what I mean)
can I still use these covers?

Find out the junkyard's return policy.
Here is some trivia:
Your car has what is called 'centerbolt' valve covers. The heads are called 'centerbolt heads' and are drilled especially to fit centerbolt valve covers. The manifold to head bolt pattern is different than the pre-87 non-centerbolt style as well.
Centerbolt valve covers were GMs answer to chronic valve cover gasket leaks.
RP.
