Sparta

I headed for Sparta right after work...

I got there about 3:30, just in time to see everyone leaving!

I was going to go in and see who was still left, but they said I wasn't allowed to race againts the imports.

Since I was already out there, I took a cruize into port. On my way back, I saw some really sweet thirdgens parked at a restaurant... one was a blue TA with some nice chrome wheels... the others were all IROCs.

There is no way I'm working on the next track day, I've missed two in a row now!

I was gonna go today, but a rear ender ended my plans on Tuesday. Sucks to be me huh? At least its not a total loss, no major damage save for the exhaust system but still the inconvience factor is getting to me.

I also want to make the next track day. I just got my new carb today and it is running real sweet. Next time you follow behind me Slade1 it will be alot easier to breathe . I will be getting that intake manifold ( and the cam, hopefully) in the very near future, so hopefully by the next day at the track, I will be race ready. I have a few Fridays off throughout the summer, so maybe I will go down for a test&tune night.

I think I intend to take you on mod for mod Kev hehe. Actually come to think about it, I could probably use the same manifold that you're getting, all I'd need is a TBI adapter and I'd be good to go. It'd save me a bit over having to shell out the cost of the TBI specific Performer TBI Manifold w/egr and just go with the Performer Manifold w/egr + TBI adapter...

I priced one out at Brant Performance and they quoted me $369, but when I told them that I could get it for $339 at K&K Racing in Stratford, he agreed to sell it to me for that price.I told them I would let him know. If you want, I can call K&K Racing and ask them if they can better their price if I order two. As for the cam, I might go with a Crane Cam as all theirs come with lifters and assembly lube. When I asked about it today, the guy said that the Comp Cams are way overpriced and they don't include the lifters. Crane is just as good and are a better deal.
I want to do it all the mods at once to save myself time and money in the long run.

What are the stats on the crane cams? Remember if we go too much from mild to hot, we will be forced to change heads, and I just can't afford new heads right now..

The guy said that they were equivalant to the Comp Cam, just a little bit less lift. He didn't go into specifics. I will research it to death before I make a decision. I am a little obsessive that way.I will let you know what I find out.

Hey Slade1 go for the carb manifold and have an adaptor built or buy one. I did this before to a TBI and it worked GREAT. I used a Weiand single plane and never had a problem sure liked how the engine rev'd with the setup -- oh yeah I swapped out the GM TBI for a Holley 670 cfm with 80lb'ers. Had a mondo cam and exhaust that 305 TBI really rocked. Uh... go easy on the cam the TBI doesn't like alot of intake duration. I had 217 degrees at .050 and it was a flop -- never did get it running properly and helped pay Ed Wright's mortgage trying to get a combo that worked...
