Question about AFPR.

Hi guys.
I'm hoping to install my AFPR this weekend. It's from Accel.
In the box, there is a little bag with the adjustment screw, the round metal plate thingy and a hex nut.
I don't normally read instructions, but I did in this case.
Does anyone know where the hex nut goes?
There's nothing in the instructions about it and I'm not sure if it goes on the inside or outside of the housing. I'm assuming it has something to do with the adjustment screw.
Thanks for any help.

Accel must have changed the design because mine is adjusted using an allen head keyway.

This adjustment screw has a slotted hex head. Can be adjusted with a flat screwdriver or wrench, but there is no mention about the nut though. I don't really see where it's needed. Just thought it's in there for a reason.

Not sure but you say there is a nut left over? Could it be a lock nut for the adjustment screw? Just a thought. Do you have a digital cam you can use to take pics of regulator and the nut in question?

No digital cam.
You guys with AFPR's, is there only a screw in the housing that goes directly against the metal plate.
I don't see any reason for this nut.

You might want to call a reputable aftermarket dealer and ask them, they might have some insight as to where this nut goes.
Just a thought, usually the smaller shops do engine building and installations of the items they sell. Did you get it from K&K Racing? Kevin should be able to tell you.

I've got the Holley unit so it's quite different.

Hi

Well, I found out where that hex nut goes. It's threaded on the adjustment screw before the screw goes in the housing. It's used to lock the screw from turning on it's own.
Sounds simple enough...amazing what a phone call will do.

That's what I thought it was for.

Glad you got it figured out though>
