It was all over the news just after the first one happened, and then not even 2 days later it was on the news again about a different crash. BC already started having their cops enforce "safety" on drag cars citing anything from lowering springs on cars that shouldn't be lowered to low valences to spoilers. Mostly targeted at ricers though hehe. They went as far as to make any possible drag roads "undragable" by placing medians that force you to go around them like a long slalom course. Ontario has been considering similar enforcements in the past 5 years, but never really saw the need until as of late with some high profile media cases concerning Steeles Rd. Now in 1 week we have 2 drag messes, 1 *****, 1 punk firebird owner not out of diapers yet bringing lots of attention to sports cars. Nevermind the Intrepid or the BMW, the focus will turn out to be on ricers and f-body owners since those cars are high profile... A dark time is approaching for us... crackdowns may occur soon... in all my time around f-bodies, yesterday was the first time I felt uneasy as a OPP examined my car because he thought it was "too loud"... Never in my dad's experience nor mine had we had a car examined for that reason... It was nuts...

Cops now a days think they are mechanics. How do they have any way of declaring that your car is too loud. They don't. Even if we buy a muffler that is street legal they're will always be one ******* or one bitch cop that tries and proves you wrong. Screw them all, and just don't bother stopping anymore, cause from what I hear, the cops around T.O. area are really **** about everything.

Yeah, it's these idiots that will ruin it for all of us. I think it would be a great idea for municipalities to look at creating dragstrips for legalized racing. I know that in Los Angeles they started a program that saw use of the local drag strip to let guys race their cars against each other. The program was working and they expanded it to other cities. We have St Thomas and Grand Bend, but they are too far to attract any attention from these kids that are racing on the streets. I know that if there was a dragstrip in the K-W area, I would be there. I think with the amount of Rice and "GENUINE" sportscars in the area, it would become very popular. It would be worth a look at, especially in areas where street racing has become a major problem.

I've been to a few drag strips in Cali when I lived there and the majority of serious racers go there for their kicks. All in good fun. I'm a major supporter of having dragstrips made here but under our current goverment, getting the ok and funds for that is hard unless backed by some major corp or some serious cash in hand...

As for cops being **** in Toronto, yeah they're not mechanics, but with their lame *** government given powers, they can say your car is unsafe and pull it. Since they aren't mechanics though, they normally don't end up doing it, but during drive clean blitzes they pull everything they can get their hands on that they deem unsafe.. all it takes is some blue/black smoke out the exhaust and they do it. It doesn't matter if they can't tell a cat from a muffler, they do it anyways. Why? They have the *** damn power by law behind them in the name of "public good"... sure pisses me off thinking about it...

Funny you mention you getting pulled over for being too loud... that is soooo stupid. Harley Davidsons are 100 times louder than any F-Body car that I've heard, but do you see the Harley's getting pulled over? Hell no... why? Maybe because cops are scared of bikers? Beats me

good point nate... I thought it was dumb as well. If he had tried to give me a ticket, then I would have had his *** in court for harassment. Till that time comes, I give cops leeway on being curious but if they stick their lame "I think I know jack all about cars just cuz I pull them over" attitude they have another thing coming.
