Painted my gfx!

Hey guys, well I finally did it!
I painted my gfx, $30 cdn, is what the project costed me.
I got the following: 220 Sandpaper, 3m car tape, 2 cans of black (perfect match) black spray paint, Primer... and I used some old news papers and I did this in a garage.. oh guys I also used some paint thiner to clean the gfx before painting, yah forgot to mention that.

Took about 4 hours to complete.
I did it the day before the kitchener meeting, but things didnt go to well and I didnt end up going so I can show the guys. But it turned out perfect. Guyssss its awsome looking in person, u can barley tell the difference really, Im going to finish doing the touch ups and the inside of the car area. Spray paint works very well if u know how to use it well. So me and my friend did all of this work, he painted it... I taped and helped out. We sanded down the gfx about a week before (well me and another friend), we got it smooooooth cause I had a lot of rockchips.. Than a week later I did the painting. Well like I said, it turned out mint, really amazing.
I did about 3 layers of paint on each side, except for the back we ran out, so we did 2 coats of paint on the back.

Anyways.. one step at a time!!

I liked it better with the Gold GFX.

Looks nice dave... here's another simple project you can do... get some paint stripper ( I'll get the brand my budd has used on his 2 sets of rims, works really good, and doesn't eat at rubber ) and strip your rims, sand down the "previously" clear coated aluminumand polish it, paint the middles grey (or whatever) than clear the whole rim... It's a decent project, but very very worth it when you see the finished product. Let me know if you want some more info, maybe we can talk, or meet up.

nate's right... the gold rims just don't suite... He's suggesting the standard iroc rims color... My rims are exactly like that... damn camera if it was working I'd take pics... gray in the recessed areas and polished aluminum on the outer ares... looks great, matches any paintjob well... Another thing that looked good on my black car were chrome rims, my american racing rims (only 15x7s though) looked really nice and complimented the black well.

NatE!

Hey Nate
u going to get back to me with that info on the rim polishing or what? Give me details on what to do.

And post some pics to give me an idea of what your talking about, im kinda confused about the IROC look figure on our 15" stock rims. Also, dont you think black rims would suit it?
