oh,oh....Broke Something

I was doing a little spirited excelleration today when I noticed this clunking sound. Well I stopped the car tonight and lit it up and it felt as though something was trying to come through the transmission tunnel. As soon as i hit it a loud clunk can be heard just below the gear selector. The selector itself doesn't move, could I have a busted tranny mount? It only happens when I get on it. Here we go again..................

Car: 90 IROC 5.7 hardtop
Engine: L98
Transmission: T5 swap
Axle/Gears: Yup -- they still work
been there and done that -- maybe...

My '85 did that at around 220,000kms. It was NOT the tranny it was the bolt holding the torque arm to the tranny/chassis/whatever -- it sheared off and made a h*ll of a racket bashing around when I tried to accelerate.

I thought the car and/or tranny was going to come apart.
I replaced the bolt for something like $10 from GM and the problem was fixed.

Hope this is it.
RP.

My guess is the tranny mount... Thats what my car sounded like in the beginning of the season. I picked up a 1LE mount for a 1995 Camaro, works good, but it lifts the tranny a bit, so at 70km/h in 3rd gear, I get a vibration, and under high speeds. I may switch over to the normal mount, or a poly mount

I got a decent poly mount for my tranny mount... with that problem solved, I'm really really really aggravating the stress fractures on my car... my b-pillar is looking bad.. I'm kinda wishing my tranny mount would break instead lol...

This is the exact noise I have.
I got them replaced and about a week later they broke agian. So screw it, waste of money. I first drove it like that for over 9 months until I got it fixed, now its been broken for about 2 months.
