I was coming home from Cornwall along the St. lawrence River. Hwy #2 and you could see all of the bugs in the light hitting the car, but when I woke up the next morning my front end was all whitish yellow, shad flies everywhere, they covered(totally) my front end.

Axle/Gears: Yup -- they still work
lotsa wax
I pour gallons (litres for the under-40 crowd) of wax on the nose of my Bird. That way when I wash it the bug splats wash away real easy. Ain't no cure for bug splats but you sure can make it easy to clean 'em off.

You know what is worse...driving through rural Alberta where they are having a HUGE problem with grasshoppers. It was totally disgusting. They were everywhere, inside the engine compartment, rad, condensor, lights, grill, mirrors...it was so bad that I had to power wash the lights and rad just so I could see and not have the van overheat.I still have them in the engine area.Every time we start the van, when it heats up, it smells like burnt hay.
Now can everyone say....EEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWW!!!
