If you are interested in chip for your car look into buying a Pocket programmer 2 $150US and Tunercat $90US bin modifying program... Iknow it is quite a bit of money but trust me you get alot better options than buying a chip from a person that doesn't have the correct info on your car... and the only way he is going to get it is with a scan tool.... I just got into custom prom buring and I am learning alot.. but it gets confusing at times.. SO i have taken a break from it till the winter or so...
If location and traveling is the problem Ive reade that some PROM programmers can get the needed data over the internet via a laptop in your car or desktop in garage. From there they can program your prom at your house online. Of course you need all the programming software and the hookup on your comp. I think i read about a guy who does this in gm hightech performance or something like that. Im sure someone on the ECM board could expand.

I haven't got the courage to try this yet myself and have had bad experiences with off the shelf chips.
