How mane people here half to fix there car all most all day? I mean your car runs great but you go under the hood every day? ~~!!!!!
I just got home for the long weekend and the first thing I did was go for a ride in my car !
Man she needs some love! I’m going to be fixing it all day 2moro!
I’m psyched! ! (its not running good at all right now. I did a burn out for some friends, the RPM would not go past 2000 and it stalled. This is ****ed but its fun to fix! That’s why im happy it was broke when I got home: D)

Check it out. This is the mod plan for Friday. 1) New exhaust pipe in place of the cat. 2) New timing tab. 3) Advance timing. 4) **** around with the carburetor and vacuum lines to get my engine running mint. 5) Depending on $ a new muffler or Carb ! maby a intake manifold or new engine block!

BTW- if your wondering about the Q I asked, Im the type that has to work on the engine every day and to be honest with ya I love this ****!

I'm doing front brakes tomorrow, and man, those pads aren't cheap! I have to dish out $87.00 for the pads all because I have 4 wheel disc's and WS6 performance package. All total with the rotors it comes to $240 + tax.(front only)
I have already done the new carb and intake. Next it will be either a cam or headers.

I have been doing my share of mods the last week and a half or so. So far since the car has been apart I have done the TB coolant bypass, made a homemade open element cold air intake (using stock pipe, for now), ported the plenum, ported the runners (almost done last side), polished the plenum and runners, cleaned some rust proofing crap from a previous owner off my engine bay (doesnt sound like much but i spent 5 hours so far and its still not done!), replaced rear swaybar to body assemblies with moogs, ordered SLP headers and y-pipe (non AIR, 1 3/4 primaries), and am ordering a hooker catback tommorrow from a store nearby (depending on price they call back with) or hi-performance.com. Now thats a modding spree if you ask me... I want to get a new mp3 player for the car this weekend to last till clarion starts making them. Playing with 18 cds, all burnt with different songs by dif artists etc is not to fun. I also want to add an AFPR sometime soon. Oh ya I have a new heated O2 sensor in the garage for the headers when they come in. Not to shabby if you ask me, I just hope a I can keep modding through winter at a pace close to this. I want to tackle springs/shocks/LCAs/panhard rod/wonderbar/SFC over winter so I can start lapping next summer. I need a paintjob too so whether I do prep work myself and get a real painter to do it or I give it a go depends on cash (probably not alot after suspension is said and done). I wouldnt mind adding a nice spoiler before the paint as well . I got an easy semester coming up so I dont think finding the time for those mods will be hard.

Acceld good luck with the fuel pump, just from being under the rear lately I can tell th one will be a bun fitch... hope it fixes your fuel pressure problems, and if you get another AFPR let me know how it goes.

As for the burnout, that reminds me I gotta look into line locks. My rear tires are almost slicks (sounds so much better than saying bald) and I want to let them go down in style with a nice burnout to the belts funeral. Are TA radials supposed to only last 10k?

when I get my car out of the garage I will post some pics of it and the polished intake stuff.
hmmm I think this post is long enough...

I went through all my major repairs b/w 180000 and 240000 kms...

during that period I went through (in chronological order) then what I learned from each repair hehe....

rear differential gears
heater core
steering whatchamacalit (metal support bar for steering)
rad fan motor
a/c/heater fan motor
rad
oil pump
o-rings
egr
fuel pump
transmission mount

-Who would have thought a puny lo3 could bust gears???

-Coolant dump in passenger seat in middle of coldest winter, love that smell. Hoses must be superglued or something...

-You'd think GM welded that thing on instead of bolting it...

-Temp in the red zone = bad...

-Creative wiring should win an award or something for me... It still works 4 years later...

-Rads do explode, ask me how! Hood has scars...

-Low oil pressure = bad combination with certain other mod...

-Burning oil, long story how this happened... look to previous + next part for why...

-They put in egr's for a reason... above is why...

-First day second semester... I became a public transit commuter!!! Fuel pump dies in driveway of all the damn great times...

-Since when do shifters jump and move around?

I learned a lot during that period about my car, in the mix of all those repairs are the little ones, brakes mods, on list in sig...

I don't consider those repairs really, just more like preventative maintenance. I haven't spent whole days working on my car for awhile now, I'd rather spend my time earning money instead of dropping money into it at the moment...

Thats too funny! I am the same way, never ending repairs, car never runs right. I can't help but think that I have caused some of my own problems as part of my learning curve. One day it'll be the way I want it, hopefully.

When you can't stand to look at your car anymore, simply go find a deserted parking lot or back road, and do a smoky burnout or a few donuts, and you will fall in love with your car again Trust me, it works.... only one downfall, $500 for back tires
