Battery gave up the ghost...
Looks like my battery is finally gone south...after three winter storages and many false alarms from the car alarm it looks like she's toast. The volt meter in my car is reading about 9-10V and won't even rise when throttle is given. At first I thought maybe the alternator, but that is less then a year old. Then I noticed the little green little on the battery was dim to black...and if I smacked the battery with my hand the green light would come on for a second then out again.
It's an AC Delco battery but I think I'm gonna go with an Optima battery this time round. I'm gonna go with the Yellow Top...I wanted the red to match the accents in the engine bay, but the yellow is supposedly the best for deep cycle, non-daily driver cars with aftermarket alarm systems.
Does anyone else have an Optima? And how much did you pay for it? According to the Optima website I can get it at PartsSource in Stoney Creek, but I have a feeling they probably jacked up the price a bit.
PS: I was thinking, wouldn't it be nice if this solved my starting problem!!! For some reason I don't think it's that easy, I think it's still the fuel pump...but we'll see.
