Greg............
Where are ya? I thought we were all going to meet at 2pm at the Kemptville CT. We'll be here for a litle while if you can still make it.
I checked this morning and it didnt look like many were going... But anyway I started changing my filter and bent a line badly. I was thinking about taking the intrepid (my coming up winter beater) but it would be kind of pointless. Anyway it looks like Im driving the intrepid till I get a new fuel line or find a way to bend it back and patch it temporarily (is there a way?). Im going to JT auto parts tommorrow and see what they want for it (its the long one from filter to front). Anyway if I can get that patched us kemptville locals should meet somewhere and go for a short tour.
Sorry bout that **** It was kind of a crappy day since I woke up with a hangover/headache. Who showed up?

Replacing the fuel line is pretty easy, it just bolts along the floor pan.
You can go with GM or make your own, if you do make your own, just make sure you create a fool proof seal.
I made my own fuel line, same size and bent it the way I want, just be careful with bends, I jury rigged a vise and a channel lock as a mandrel bend to bend it.

What prices did you get when looking around for a pre bent and straight line pipe? I was planning on leaving the gas and brake lines till winter but Its probably safer if i do the gas one now. Even if i straighten it out, its pretty corroded and I dont want to spring a leak at 40 psi.
Believe it or not, CT carries the right size unbent piping for the do it yourselfer for cheap. The also rent out the flare tool for free, sell the connectors for cheap, green thread locker rated for chemicals. I also passed by the dealership and grabbed the chemical rated o-rings too for our piping.
Cost was $25 to me, took about as long as the 2nd period of the gold medal Canada vs US game.
The flares weren't exactly like the GM standard flares in terms of placement of o-rings, I ended up putting the o-rings between the flare and the connector and used the threadlocker to seal the thread. Before I messed around, I pressure tested this arrangement, it went to 100 psi without leaking, didn't bother testing past that, so I figure it can handle 50 psi with no problem.
Just make sure that if you do this that you allow proper cure time for the seal. Package says 2 hrs, I left it for a day. Threadlocker was rated to 400 C so I doubt engine bay heat will budge the seal.

Thats not to bad at all! If dealer or carquest wants over 50-60 bucks Id probably just do that. My brother has the flare tool and a bender and is pretty good with that crap but hes on vacation with gf and wont be back till a week from tommorrow. Kemptville CT doesnt lend out tools any more
. Said they had problems with returns, probly just to lazy or cheap. I guess I will find out tommorrow.
