Triangle Door Seals

Anyone ever had to replace these? Mine need to be replaced. Just wondering what I should be looking for if I buy them used (i.e. how much hardware comes with if any?)

Tracey,

Are you refering to the weatherstripping which touches the window when the window is up???

If so I did those on mine in the spring when I got my car painted. I was able to pickup a kit for something like $100 bucks tax inc. at one of the swap meets. Dont have the guys name/number who I got it off, but there are a tone of people who sell weatherstripping kits.

They were relatively easy to put in, the removal of the old stuff was more difficult, but not all that bad, cut that wind noise right down.

The weather stripping (foam rubber stuff) around the top is ok. It's just those 2 triangles right by either mirror. They're brittle and are cracking. Lots of wind noise. Did you do those too?

Ah...I know what you are talking bout. When I put my car back together I just put the old ones back on, I dont think mine were all that bad, so cant really help you there in terms of sourcing the parts, although now that I think about it I might have a couple of used ones in my garage.

If you do manage to find a couple of them in good shape they are not all that hard to swap. The hardest part I would say is removing the inner door skin/handles etc.

I have a couple of leads on some but I have yet to see them. Thanks for the info. It sounds like a time-consuming project for this winter when I'll be suffering from Camaro-withdrawal.

They show up on eBay every now and then. About $5-10 a piece. Not much work replacing them if you know how to pull the door panels.

If you are still looking these pieces I replaced mine from The Paddock call 1.800.428.4319. They cost $29.95 US for both sides.

Cool! I do still need them. I'll have a look at the website, but if you have a chance to email me/pm me with some more details, that'd be great. Nice to hear from ya!

If you only need to replace the weatherstripping part of the triangle, they're quite easy to do. Just open your door, get a good grip on the weatherstripping, and pull it straight up. It slides in a "T" shaped groove on the triangle, similar to a dovetail joint used in woodworking. The replacement ones slide right back in; no sealant is necessary.

PM or email me because I'm also interested.
I was about the order that triangle from the states for $44.00 Cdn. If I can get both sides for $29.00 from you that would be great!
Also, can you get the door weather strip that runs on the outside of the door window. Mine is cracked in a few spots so maybe I'll do both? I am only interested in replaceing the left side.

Traingle weatherstrip part # 20598023
Weatherstrip part # 10124265

You're welcome on the info.
The 'slam' is because a 50-ish woman driver in a Caprice smoked the side of my Camaro; see the 'crash pics' link.
