Argh Something Always Goes Wrong!

Everybody who owns a camaro knows that the doors are a bitch to close. If you don't slam them hard enough they always stay open a crack and don't close all the way.

Well my brother slammed the door today because the door wouldn't close properly. I find it funny that I am the only one in the world out of all my friends/family who knows how to close a camaro door properly, but whatever.

Anyhow, I think he slammed it too hard because after he closed it 30 minutes later, it now makes a metal clang sound when it closes. I looked inside the door and the little plastic piece that keeps the door closed cracked on the top and underneath the top layer it's metal. You probably don't know what I'm talking about, but the conclusion of the crack is now the little metal hinge I'm talking about hits another metal pole-type object in result a loud CLANG whenever I close my passenger door. GAY!!!!!

Sorry I can't help you out with the door problem, but I think you should keep your brother away from your car. I'm sure he doesn't do it on purpose, but he sure is doing a number to your car.

With the help of the pic, I understand what's happening now. Check to see if that latch is gummed up or stuck. I had that happen to me a few times. Spray it with WD40 or some other light oil and see if it helps any.

sorry I cant help man but if your door is like in that picture you got bigger problems then the latch lol.
But seriously I know what you mean my family is the same way, except my bro. But he owns a 67 firebird vert so he knows the drill. Im always bitching at the others though... The worse is the rear hatch. No one can seem to remember that it has a freaking motor! I think I lose a year off my life when that gets slammed. It makes the nastiest sound...

Oh it does that on my car too, my solution is some ball bearing grease and it quiets it up quite nicely.
