continueing engine problems

Well still having problems with the engine. Changed the fuel filter. Put on some new wires. I bought a set of Taylors. Also ivested in a fuel pressure guage.

I was talking to the guy at Performance improvements he thought that the fuel system should be running at somewhere around 45 psi for a 305 T.P.I. Mine is running at aboput 35. Now i'm not sure maybe he's got his numbers mixed up. Does anyone have any idea what the stock pressure should be. The car runs alittle rough now but when i push it, it still stutters like it is struggleing. Could it be the fuel pump is ready to go?

I believe 40 is the average stock. Not positive on that though. I would say 35 would definately run it lean at high rpms but not as bad of a problem as your describing...

Was the pressure reading taken when the engine was hot, or warm? I know my 350 needs to be at around 40psi stock, I have it around 50psi (accel gauge is fubar)

GM "spec" is 39-43psi at idle with the hose connected.

I know you have already probably checked but what do the spark plugs look like. And have you changed them in the last 20,000 kms?
