I even locked Hughe's off-topic post... there is no descrimination here. If it's that far off topic it will be locked no matter who you think you are.

man, you posted a stupid picture that wasnt even funny (why do you think i asked you if you were honkeytonked?) and jason was just doing his job as a mod. there were several other completely off topic posts that were locked lately, with good explaination and paul even put up an annoucement about not posting completely off topic stuff....so i cant believe you are suprised you post got locked.

It's nothing to do with any of this garbage... there are just better people for the job. The decision was made a long time ago. Dirk is a busy man as am I. I will still be an active member and attend gatherings.

Nate did leave. He PM'd me and said he's finished...what can you do. He said that it use to be fun here and now it is not. Like I said..what can you do..he's a grown man. I tried to encourage him not to..but.. I couldn't. I tried...that's all I could do.

 

Hes not the first guy to leave he will not be the last. Its his decision if he wants to act like a child. He will be back eventually.

sad to see Nathan leave but rules are rules..We are lucky to have the Ontario Region board(if you only guys know how long Ive waited and bugged Dirk about his).If we dont go by the rules we have a chance of losing this board..This rule is also to protect us..Imagine if a thousand mark Shields(j/k)post on this board..Back when when the board colors was still black and yellow..There was a problem of getting your technical questions answered,so a non tech board was made..The Non-tech board got offensive not just to the owners but also to newbies that it wasnt a good place to be in anymore..And theres also those who still post non tech stuff in the tech boards..Imagine having a car problem and cant get any help cause the baord is being clogged by non tech stuff..So the board became a strictly technical site..Then www.nethirdgen.org was created which Dirk endorsed so people that goes to the board can keep in touch and such..There was even a link on the front page before..Either way ..good job Jason..

Well, I for one, hate to see Nate leave the board. But rules are rules and they are in place for the good of everyone. I have seen alot of things slide in the past, and now that they are enforcing the rules, people will get upset. It's a fact of life, you break the rules, you will pay for it, one way or the other. I hope that Nate does come back, but if he doesn't, I wish him well.
As for you Jay, I think that you have done a fine job as a moderator. When you enforce the rules, you will take alot of heat for it. It's a thankless job, sometimes. I would like to see you stay on as a mod, but if you have made up your mind, then I think I can speak for the rest of the board, and say THANK YOU for a job well done.:hail: :hail: :hail: :hail:

It's a JOKE, as long as it isn't racist or harrasing, disgusting or just plain out rude...WHO CARES! That is why it is called a joke! Anyways , I look at it like this, this board has always been laid back, then all of a sudden the mods crack down on the rules.

Fine, but don't let things be one way for a long time, then just go and change. Granted there is a sticky at the top now, but I personally didn't see it till after I had posted a non tech post. I didn't mean to ruffle any feathers, but just be consistent as not to confuse people.

Well, I totally agree with what our Mods have been doing, it would be a royal PITA to be obligated to read through EVERY post on this board with some of the BS that gets posted. I'm sorry to hear that Nathan is leaving, and hope he cools off as does everyone else.....but you win some, you lose some, Johnny was just doin his job.

Mark,I dunno if you read my post but it has been a tech only board for a longer time..They "cracked down' cause its getting too much..This boards has been created for car(thirdgens) related issues..everything else is gravy..Posting on this board is a privledge not a right.I like a lot of the jokes too but the owners decide what goes on their board

Daz is right mark, and you should also realize johnyIROC has always locked non-tech photo posts. there wasnt a big change all of the sudden, non-tech posts like nblanchards and yours were always locked, so dont say there was a big change.

 

Guys Guys Guys, I am in no way arguing or tryin to come off as a dik here.

I'm just stating, I've seen so many posts that didn't have to do with 3rd GEns and weren't locked.

One thing though, is this is how I see it different, on the Mid Atl board it is real tightly locked down, you can't post much of anything, here I liked how you guys could BS back and forth and it kept you guys closer, I wish the Mid Atl board was like that.

It's hard to keep a regional board tech, b/c it's not really setup for tech, it's a place for people to keep in contact with each other really if you think about it.

Just my .02 , I'm not putting down JohnnyIROC in any way, I've never had a problem with him.
