Electrical Question
How would I wire something into the fuse panel? Rather than splice off an existing wire, I would rather give it it's own fuse, just to make it a little cleaner. But I have no idea how it's done.

Most fuse blocks come with spare slots for additional fusing.
Just make a jumper from a 12V battery source in your fuse block to one side of a spare spot for a new fused circuit within the fuse box. And from the other end of the fuse, run it to wherever your going.
Don't forget to calculate a proper fuse size.

Pardon my lack of electrical knowledge here as I'm sure this sounds pretty stupid, but what would I use as a jumper? If I were to look at the back of the fuse block (which I haven't done yet) would this be obvious to me? And it's for the power seats, so whatta think, 30A or less?

Chris the wire in the fuse is a old stereo installer trick and it works real well. If done right you do not see it at all. BUT I would never put more than 2 wires in that way.

I have done that in the past for sterio's and power seats etc, Like Paul mentioned etc, it works fine etc and its easy to do...if you are really concerned about it etc you can always wire in an inline fuse....Also, i would not suggest patching in multiple wires that way.

There should be blank fuse spots on the block. One side of the blank should be marked "Batt". Measure if you have 12-14V there. If so, good. If not, then find a 12V side from another "existing" fuse and using a small piece of wire with a spade connector on each end. Put one end of the wire in with the existing fuse on the 12v side, and the other end of the wire with the spade connector into one side of your new "blank" fuse holder spot. From the other side of the blank, use another spade connector to plug into the fuse spot and then staright wire out to your power seats. I'm not sure how much you weigh so fuse size may be different. Start with a 15A and sit in the chair and see if you can use it rregularely with it. If the fuse blows, keep going up a size till you find one that will not blow under normal operation.
Remember: the wire you use has to be large enough to handle the current you draw. In other words don't use an 18guage wire and fuse it with 30A. You'll melt the wire before the fuse trips.
Here's an idea on wire size:
15A use number 12AWG wire
20A use number 10awg wire
30A use number 8 AWG wire.
I would find yourself some number 10 and use that. You should be safe even if you have to fuse it at 30A.
Good Luck.

Go to Canadian Tire. I'm not sure what its called but you can buy a device which takes the place of one of the fuses. And you can put 2 fuses in it. I'm sure if you look in the auto section you will find it. Has a wire coming off it for hook up, and then just find yourself a good ground. Screw it into a part of the body but take some sandpaper to take the paint off so you get a good ground.
