What are you hoping to run this summer? I don't even know if i'll have the car on the road. If I do I just hope to be quicker than last year. I'd like to find my missing MPH somewhere and then get some traction. I'm hoping for a 15.0-15.4 with my new truck.

14's
I hope to get at least low 14's this year. But my cars never been down the track so I really got no clue how it will run. I sure got alot of chalanges now though.
Looking forward to see'n how I do. I am even gunna tape the runs.

I don't plan on taking the Iroc out to the track but I want to take the LSS out. I hope to run a mid 14 with it, I really don't know what it'll do, I 'm just basing it on what some of the GTP guys have done considering their mods.

I'd like to see my car get into the 15's also after some suspension work and a rear end swap. I'm not gonna really bother with any motor work tho as all my pennies are going into the jar for a much bigger cookie
EDIT: Actually I probalby will add a cat-back and have already started to do up the ignition a little... basically I'll do anything that I can swap directly over to a bigger motor and will need starting out for things to run well.

I'm not sure what my car can do..never had it at the track....but VERY high 13's would be nice.... (1991 Z28 5.7 L98) BBK/Edelbrock 52MM TB, TB bypass, 3 inch cat back, 80 series
Flowmaster, 3 inch electric exhaust cutout, MSD-6A ignition, JET HOT CoatedEdelbrock TES Headers, RAM AIR Boxes, K&N Airfilters...

low 13s are the goal here and if that goes well and i can get some traction and good 60 fts...maybe very very high 12s, like 12.99. but thats pretty ambitious. so low 13s will be fine.

I am pretty certain that I will be breaking the 18's this year, I hope for a personal best of 17.99...lol, in my mini van!!!:D
As for the TA, I will be happy to get anywhere from mid 16's to mid 15's. Being as I have never taken the TA down the track, I don't know if I'm being optimistic or pessimistic.

Slade...as for your "prepare yourself" comment..sounds like you have some deep pockets this winter...ha ha...regardless I would love to see one of the TBI guys break into the 14's.....although to be quite honest I am not sure as to if I will still be running a TBI...

Anything faster then my only run last year!
I'm pretty sure 14's at least, but who know's?? May run a 13, and may run a 15. Have to wait and see. Traction is my main problem to deal with this year. 2.4 60's just won't do with a TPI. Need to do some suspension work and get me a mini spool and some slicks. That should bring down that 60' a good bit.

Mini-Spools are strictly a low-budget bracket car option in my opinion.
There is no reason why a good posi wont get both your tires movin unless you have too many ponies then its upgrade time.
my 3800lbs car & driver went 1.73 60-ft's on a stock rearend. It's a 10 bolt 8.5", but the posi is the same type as your 3rd gen would be.

Don't own a 3rd gen. Own a 85 Monte SS with a L98, TH350 a 3:73 gear. The trans has a 2800 stall in it right now, but I am looking at installing a Lt4 hotcam, and port and polish + gasket match. Siamese the intake and some SLP runners w/24#injectors. What would you suggest a good stall would be with this setup?? You seem to know your Turbo trannies. Any suggestions???

Well as far as the stall I think the LT4 Hotcam has what ~224 deg duration?
Your 2800 stall is probably right there with what you'd need. I dont know the exact cam specs but if you post the exact motor specs (compression, cubes, intake, carb/induction, cam specs, cylinder heads, exhaust specs, gear ect) i could give you a good opinion on what stall would probably generate a good 60-ft with traction.
I just noticed you have pretty much a stock TPI with the exception of Port & polish & some runners.
Figuring your going to max the HP output by the revs u can put to use (under 5800 i assume) then i would keep the 2800. (if it's a true 2800, by this i mean stalling at 2800 & a 10" converter)

Pretty much everything is in my prior post, I will be having the L98 heads machined for 2.02 and 1.6 valves. with a 10:1 ratio. 1.6 roller rockers and LT1 valve springs. Off hand I am unsure of the complete specs on the LT4 cam. If you can think of anything else jsut say so...
Thanks

Those are the production LT-4 cam specs. The Hotcam is........
218/224 .525/.525 with a 112LSA
I'd stick with the 2800.

ACCELD hit it right on the nose.
I agree & think that 2800-3000 stall would be a good choice.
Just make sure your converter is stalling at this. If it's an 11" i would chuck it. If it's a 10" it's more likely to stall at it's desired point.

14.7-14.9 i will be happy, orinally i was looking for 14.5 this spring but seeing that i dont have the money for the slp runners cause i want new brakes.
last year i ran a 15.1, before i go this year im installing a jacobs pro street ignition system, with msd wires i believe, and also a hooker catback, thanks to gerry,
but the first thing that has to be done is getting the car back on the road

Ran a 14.0@99 with radials & a 2.0 60-ft.
weird huh?
my 355 i stock heads - unknown (oversized i suspect) cam,
2.72 no posi, th350 stage 1 kit, stock stall, performed intake, holley 600, radials -
getting 2.3x 60ft but 14.5 at 99.xx
very strange - seems to really pull right now in the mid range
if i move to the xe262 cam, plop in the posi and 3.23's - i should definitely get better 60's, faster first half of the track - but i wonder what it will do to the top half ,
i could see better times and less mph?
