mahahaha i got chrome vette covers

4 pm... valve covers arrived
5 pm... started sanding
5:05 pm, realized need a sander
6:30 pm... black and decker mouse sander purchased

10:30 pm... one valve cover done 95%, looks like chrome.... other 10% done...

i'll post pics when i finish them completely.

Awesome! Are they the magnesium type? I wondered how nicely they would polish up! Too lazy to try, I sent mine down to the coating shop to be ceramic coated (like the header in the picture) They could not coat it because of the magnesium alloy. I broke down and had mine wrinkle coated black. Mine are missing the corvette emblem and are the perimeter style.
I saw the TPI you posted...it looked great. Keep up the good work.

that round filter stickin out the valve cover i want one on mine, where does it go, did u just take off that hose that goes into the airfilter box that comes out the cover and put that in? what r they and what do they do?

If you have smog laws in your state, do not use an open breather. The breather vents harmful crankcase vapors. You have a factory system that acomplishes this well. It does not quite look as nice. To install a breather, find the proper grommet for your valve covers and simply push in the breather filter. The factory system removal is different for various thirdgens, but basicly involves removing a vaccum line and plugging a vaccum port.
