Yes and no..what do you mean about your tires? Liek what is wrong with them? If there are any actually big tears or anything and they see it..No they wont' let you run, if they are a bit bald and a small amount of weather check, you shoudl be alright for the most part.

Tires are 100% of lap times, crappy tires crappy laptimes. But it is more compound than tread, but if they are bald than they probably have been through a couple of strong heat cycles (ie burnouts) and they may have harden up like rocks so you risk spinning out.

icebird_1981 odds are good that when you get tecked they will not look at anything in your car. i have been to the track 5 times this year and not opened my hood once. most of the time you just drive up and and they wright the number on the car and you are out racing in less than 2 min. the only thing they dont realy like is if you wear shorts

Scott is right... for the most part unles you have NOS or a big blower or such. They ussually won't look to much. But you really have to be carefull with bald radials, as I have seen some go right into the gar rails if you go through the water...

No shorts??? Hmm never had that problem at TMP?? I always wear short when I race there. Mind you again if your in a car that does 12's or better you require proper safety clothing etc.

I did my first few runs ever on bald tires, they didnt care. They give ya very major traction issues though and dont work like slicks at all. But i did get my best mph with the bald tires at 103.4mph, my best with the exact same tire type but with tread is 101.7mph.

What size of tire u need? I might have a spare one, not that u'll be in my area anytime soon.
