Fast Idle?
Fast Idle?
This is the second time my car has done this in the past couple weeks...I start it up and it idles at 1500-1750 RPM. The first time it happened I just shut off the car, waited a minute and started it up again and then it was fine. But last night it would not drop...the engine was already warmed up, I tried shutting off the car and restarting, I tried blipping the throttle a couple times and no success.
What would cause a TPI to run at high idle like that?

IAC??? I've read on other posts here of the needle getting sticky and just lubing it a little fixes the problem. I'm not sure if this is only with TBI setups or if it's the same for TPI but through I'd throw out a guess.

Good point Justin! Yes the CTS can cause idle problems , but more so as a rich/lean situation though for the most part.

Well I ran the scan after cleaning the TB and IAC. I haven't had a chance to read the logs yet on my laptop cause it didn't have enough juice...and of course I couldn't recharge it.
I'll probably try to look at it on Sunday, but so far it was running okay. All the readings appear to be normal so far, but I'll have to compare them to some old logs to be sure any other varibles aren't off.
