last month i was at the mall and when i came out someone hit my car trying to park and of course they took off>there pumper scraped from the edge of my wheel well to the middle of my door. so i put it as a hit and run and got it fixed. yesterday i went to the movies with my girl and when i came out someone opened there door and smacked my car putting a huge scuff, scrape and dent in my door and scratched off all the paint on the edge of my side mirror, and guess what.... they took off like alway! so now i have to get the same door plus the mirror fixed and painted . best part is i have to pay to get it fixed out of my pocket because if i go through my insurance again it will end up costing me more, i may as well drive with no insurance. funny part is i park far away from everyone but people just luv parking near me. i wish i could have seen this person do this i would have beat the $hit out of them>just thinking about it makes me so mad i could put a hole in the wall. i just want to give up and leave the damage there because i think its just gunna happen again and again, i dont even want to bother taken care of it or washing it because people just come take all my hard work away...i cant stand to look at my own car or even drive it lol. sry bout the rant just had to let it out, maken me so depressed and discuraged..... anyone else have this happen to there thirdgen?? whats the story?? oh did any of u catch the person and lay a beating on them?

no i dont but even if i did it would not have helped. a guy seen it i know that works there i talked to him today and the only car that parked beside me was a newer ford taurs soon as my alarm went off he took off. the dent is way up higher even if i had the molding he would have nailed me because those cars have the big hump in the door, no what i mean.

I really hate when people damage other people's car and then take off. Some people these days don't have the outmost respect
for others property. The nerve of some people!!

I never take my car anywhere unattendend, in order to avoid going through those headaches you have experienced.

 

I was once sitting in my car in the school parking lot reading (waiting for the time to go to class). A girl pulled up next to me and opened her door so hard into my car, it rocked the car. She just got out and walked away like it was no thing. I didn't get out and say anything because just a week or two earlier that same door had been plowed into by somebody without insurance.

 

That sucks Jay, rule of thumb... Don't park a nice car in any mall parking lot. It is a given that some a$$ will ding it on you.

Here's my story, I cracked my shoulder blade on Canada Day a few years ago. I ended up taking a few days off work, but the boss needed me in to get something wraped up. I drive into work (at Carleton University) get into the parking lot and take a rest for few seconds before getting out of the car since I am still in pain. Some broad is walking towards my car, gets into the Taurus beside me and whack!!!, cranks my mirror hard enough to knock off some paint, 2 weeks after fresh paint.

I got out of the car, smashed on her window and proceeded to yell and swear like a madman at her...felt pretty good. She proceeded to make comments about 'my precious car' etc..

I still remember part of her license plate. QUEBEC FR54???, grey Taurus, about a 1998. You know what to do if you see it parked!!

 

Sorry to hear about your dillema, it happened to me as well.
I was parked @ work & my alarm goes off, but since it goes off all the time anyway I didn't pay attention to it, although I remember seeing a white car pulling away.
Anyhow, I finish work & go to open the door & notice that my front fender looks kinda wierd. I take a closer look & find that it is crushed in just above the front skirt.
If I only paid attention in the first place & checked out the car when the alarm went off, I could've nailed tha b--tard who did it!!!
Why are people such dicks???

 

Everybody has a parking lot story and i know my doors show a ding or two but my favourite was the day i was camping, met my wife at the site so both cars parked and a tree branch fell, bounced of my hood and pole vaulted into hers! New car too! Two big round dings and one trip to the dent dude! I guess that would be mother nature who i yelled at, nice lady but no fan of cars lol
