importfest has come and gone another year...

importfest has come and gone another year...

for those of you who dont know what that is, its a sub compact car show and is held at the skydome.

while the show was good in itself, the judging and classes sucked

since when are volkswagen beetles considered domestic?

they put them in my division (DOMESTIC OTHER) and they took home 1st, 2nd and some ugly impala (old) and caddy (old and ugly) took 3rd and fourth...

there was a sweet 99 grand am gt fully done that didnt place..

oh well

i got a few contacts for more possible sponsors which is good..

anyone go this year to view the cars?

Each to their own and all that but I just don't find car shows interesting - I'd be more inclined to use the time to either work on my car or drive it around for a bit.

yeah you should of.. oh well...we will meet up sooner or later

we need more camaros to come so they can make a division for us...that way we wont have to go against stangs and stuff (which incidentally have their own division)

Somebody sound bitter, or is that jealousy?

Dude, seriously, it's an import show. A good 80% of the cars could be considered ugly. Isn't that one of the criteria for getting a car on the floor?

well..

ill tell you something daz..

by no means is my car perfect...i never once said that...

but..have been to as many shows as i have, judged shows and such, i know what a show winning car looks like..

the ones that "arent deserving" are based purely on my experience for judging.

i can stand here and say why these cars should not have won, but in the end, they won..and there is nothing I nor anyone else can do to change that..

most of the time its venting, and i feel sometimes i (more rather my iroc) is uneccesarily cheated out somehow..

for instance..

camaro nats this year..

no offence to adrian (hawk tdz) i only scored 2 points more then him when i have about $20,000 or more put into my car and the modifications were done PROFESSIONALLY..

anyways..
we shall see what these new shows produce

I dont think the amount of dollars you spent and whomever professional did the modifications really matter. I mean I could spend $30K on a gold sprinkled paintjob but if it has a $50 LG4 then I dont think the car deserve even a parking space.I think its the overall package.Of course the styling is subjective too
