Where to get a convertible top?

If you've been asking where you can get a convertible top for your 3rd Gen, I would reccomend Enco Auto Trim & Glass.

I just had my 89' Iroc Convertible top replaced along with some minor driver seat work.

I called Enco up on Monday, and they were able to see me the next day. No waiting, no hassle.

I dropped the car of at 8:00am, and by 2:00 in the afternoon, it was done. A new top installed, and the drivers seat patched up. I'm a very fussy person when it comes to such matters, so I was extremely happy with the work done.

I paid $800.00 for the new top, and $150.00 for the seat work. That is a BARGAIN!!!

I live in Oakville, and the only guy out here who does auto upholstery wanted $1500.00 (plus tax), and over $300.00 for the seat.

If you'd like to get a hold of these guys, you can contact Louis (the owner), at 416-789-1851. They are located at 2836 Dufferin St (just south of Lawrence).

Top is looking ragged and faded. Some spots were wearing out.

There was a small tear above the drivers seat. The piping around the top was cracking, and the stitching was white.

1st of 2 After shots of the NEW top

The stitching is black, and there is no black piping around the top. It's a much cleaner look.

Before shot of the drivers side seat.

Leather was cracked and worn.

After shot of the drivers side seat.

The original leather for these seats weren't available, so they suggested going with vinyl. In all honesty, I like it better, and it will last longer.

With a bit of aging, you won't be able to tell it's vinyl.

I'd imagine they took the skin off the seat, turned it inside out, cut out the old piece and sewed in a new piece and put it back on.

New roof and seat looks good chubb and the price sounds good too.

That's what I thought but how would the side with the piping be secured?

I think I know what you mean. The sorta rim like thing on the outside edge. There is a plastic like cord on the inside of it and it is sewn from the outside around the cord. Those uphostery guys have no problem with that stuff. If I did it, it would look like a Homer Simpson job.

Same here. I'd have trouble mending a pair of jeans with an iron and a stick-on patch.

Wow! Nice job. Definitely worth the run to Toronto to get the work done. Thanks for the tip.
