Has anyone ever had their vehicle professionally appraised?

I have full coverage on my z28 but I know if something happens to it the insurance company will not give me a fair price.

Does anyone have any recomendations, obviously someone that knows f-bodies.

An appraisal is useless if not done right. The only source you should talk to is your insurance company. Ask which appraisal companies they recoginize, they'll probably give you a couple to choose from. Insurance companies can refuse an appraisal, then it's money down the drain. An appraisal should cost you $100+, and it doesn't mean that's what your cars worth to sell, like some people try to think (look at some in autotrader), it's a starting point to "fight" with your insurance company with. Also, insurance companies sometimes request a new appraisal every couple years, ask your broker what their policy is, again, this is important, if your appraisal is "out of date" in their books, and something happens to your car, your fighting for a much lower cost. I had mine appraised last year, but my broker (went to school with her years ago) took pictures of my car a couple years ago, it was becoming their policy.
In my opinion, if your now older third gen is in any decent type of shape, an appraisal is a very wise investment. It benefits you greatly. It could mean the difference of quite a few thousand bucks to alot of us on here if something ever happened. And don't think that if you get it appraised much higher that your rates will now skyrocket, they won't. I'm paying the same premium as before, and my car took a decent jump in value on their books.

3 years ago I had this Guy do my car and it cost $150.00 with the value of 30K he is good and he will come to your house to do the job http://www.moviecar.com/dougadams.html
when you get your car appraised make sure you get the "19-A" code, that is the replacement value of your appraisal on your car.
The guy that appraised mine at the Ntionals is Howard Brownell (ACV Appraisal Services) he charge me $80.00 with the value of 50K because of the show special right now I think that he also charges $150.00 acvappraisal@bellnet.ca
but definately get your car appraised, it will be worth it in the long run

Thanks for the link, there's vette guy at work that recommended Doug in Wasaga. I'll confirm with my insurance company if they'll honour the appraisal.

Lisle is about 25min. south on Wasaga so Doug makes sense.

Here she is @ just over42k
