I've never taken the school but I've been at lots of track days when it was being run. They have classroom sessions and then track sessions. Track time alternates between those taking the school and those who are not so each group is out for an hour and then they switch.

The people who have taken it seem to think it's really good and at $200 it's certainly cheap as these things go because just the entry fee w/out the school is $135 and that's dirt cheap as well to get your car on a track.

If you want to do this sort stuff you pretty much have to take some kind school or have prior experience in racing otherwise the club (OMSC) won't let you run basically because they don't know anything about you otherwise.

Needless to say the car has to be in good condition particularly the brakes. It's a good idea to flush the system with the 550* DOT 3. Also, your insurance will not cover you if wreck the car or yourself.

There's more information about lap days in general on casc.on.ca.

OMSC is good club and they get quite a few people out for these things - there's also a barbeque after.

My car has some vibration problems at high rpm so I won't be at this one. Looks like I'm doing the TFBM autocross which is on the same day.

If you do go, check your car over real good first and stay w/in the cars limits on the track.

EDIT: Scott, I didn't realize that was you - do you still have the bird - if you do this maybe run that one rather than beat on the Camaro.

No George, the bird is gone so it would be the camaro. Can't decide if I want to put it through it's paces at one of these.

Bring your car to the TFBM autocross on July 10. It's not too hard on the car, it's something to do and there'd be a few people there who wouldn't mind seeing that car again. They set up a very open course for the big cars rather than the usual rat's maze that autocross tends to be.

It's at the Hershey Centre which is in Mississauga near the 401 and highway 10 intersection.

The Events section of the website has directions and dates for drag days, autox and other stuff. Cost $20 for members and $30 for non-members. First, second and third get a case Mobil 1..lol
