Engine at Full Throttle !!!

So i floored the car, and when the secondaries kicked in, the engine stayed at full throttle. So my first thought would be the pedal stuck, return spring broken and everything looks fine. I shut the car off, and when i start it now it goes into full throttle mode (even if i tap the accelerator pedal to see if i can loosen what seems to be stuck). Anyone have this happen to them?

the accelerator cable can do it too, it has two pieces that slide inside each other they like ot get caught on each other, i like to take a razor knife and cut off the sleeve on the front-most end of the cable so it doesnt get stuck in the main housing of the cable assembly

good luck

Happened to me once. Found that one of the spark plug wires would slip in behind the secondary cam when the motor made its shift.

took forever to find it too.

felt like a dipstick
