ever think about doing it yourself? would save you some money and you could pick up a sandblaster from princess auto and such places. or do you not have the space?

Re: Sandblasting in the GTA

Ive def thought of doing it myself but Id have to build a booth in the shop out of 2x2's and plastic you'll have a sandblaster and sand, hood, mask etc, the $$ adds up.....next thing you know for a few hundred more you could have paid someone to do it and saved the mess....and from all accounts it makes one h ell of a mess.

Hey Doug,

Try calling either Redline in Scarborough or Wade at Straight Line Racing II and see if they have any suggestions or shops they trust....start with Wade 905-649-1118.

Hey - called the number, not sure who I was talking to because Wade wasnt there but he turned me on to S&T Sandblasting in Uxbridge 416-989-5709, guys name is Terry...very familiar with muscle cars, has a 69 Camaro in his shop right now, uses only sand but has several grades right down to the "consistency of table salt"....I described what I needed done he said "be right around $400"....now THATS more like it!....in a week or so I'll be bringing the car up there....Thanks for the suggestion!!! Doug

Re: Sandblasting in the GTA

Let me know how you do with the blasting. I have a 70 Firebird I'd like to blast if it's reasonable and the job is well/properly done. The 400$ number seems low from what I've found so let us know what the end result looks like (with pics! ) and the final tally.

Not a whole lot to blast then! I may just blast mine myself. By the time I haul it somewhere to get it done I could have bought a unit and built a plastic film booth, we'll see. Would like to know how yours turns out though.

FYI Redline isn't Redline anymore unless they moved. I can't remember the name of the shop that's currently at that location unfortunatly.
