Need an engine for 84 camaro z28

Hi guys, I have 84 camaro z28 that had a 1972 corvette engine in it. Well to make it short the engine is irreparable now and I need a new one, where in gta or kW area can I get a decent engine build or crate engine for about 5000$ ?
Looking for something 350-400 hp.

Since you self-described yourself as a newbie I would shy away from an engine such as the one you posted, because you would want to disassemble it to ensure everything the seller is claiming is true-and that's a lengthy ordeal.

However, if $5,000 is your number then there are many engines that could be bought from suppliers and provide what you are asking for.

Here is an example, though it is 330 hp but there are more powerful ones out there too.

Not sure what's not repairable on your engine, but if you are looking for a 1970's 350 block, they are still very plentiful and inexpensive to acquire. A machine shop might even have one in stock. For your budget, you will have no problem getting an engine built that's at least as good as the one you have now.

Re: Need an engine for 84 camaro z28

Don't know if you found an engine or not. A few weeks ago I bought an engine from a guy in the Phoenix area and had it shipped to just north of Minneapolis. The motor is a 350, aluminum heads, 9.5 compression. Comp cam, lifters, etc. I paid 2995 delivered. Thursday of last week we went to the Dyno shop. 422 lbs @4100, 405 hp @ 5300. These are all corrected numbers, ambient temp was 77, humidity was 67. Very warm and humid. This was with a 650 quick fuel, air gap. The guy's name is dark, blue monkey performance. Pm me your email and I will send you the chart and graph. I am not associated in any manner withdraw at blue monkey. In fact I couldn't sleep for 2 weeks being worried to death about this expenditure. I will send you his contact info with the chart. The Dyno guy is a index racer with the entire family being involved.. Region five NHRA champion.. His statement is, " you gotta a heck of a deal"... Regards, byron

I don't think you can go wrong with Year One crate engines, they're right on your budget and hp level. Or even Summit's/GM's 255hp truck vortec roller cam crate engine, it wouldn't take much to get that engine up where you want it. Both are bolt ins
